Good read..here’s an excerpt on the Oline..
"A lot of guys were out of their natural position," left tackle Kolton Miller told ESPN. "It's not easy, but [Brennan Carroll] tried to get the best of us together each week."
An agent of a Raiders offensive lineman said that his client told him the position group met multiple times on their own with Smith and Jeanty, and specifically without coaches, so the quarterback and running back could talk to them about how they wanted the offensive line to create blocks.
"It was that bad," the agent told ESPN. "They were meeting on their own and trying to figure it out together, which I have never heard of in my history of working in this league."
"There is some sort of nepotism going on," a fourth agent of a Raiders player said.

If he's capable of adding anything to this franchise he needs to be in the building nearly every day, just like everyone else. You can't get on Zoom once or twice a week and show up for a few months during the offseason and expect to have any impact. He needs to either be all the way in or he needs to sit back, shut his mouth, and collect an absurd amount of money from his investment.
How did you feel about Bo Jackson's part time role?
If a guy can add something, I'm happy to have him add something. Just because he's not there every day doesn't mean he can't make any positive contribution.

I believe Spytek said he was in talks with Brady almost daily.

Yep. All kinds of bullshit mouth flapping is going to happen prior to the draft, but there's no doubt who the pick is going to be.
I'm now going to curse us and say this: Even
we couldn't f*** this one up.
The Raiders run by The Rutabaga: “hold my beer.”

It all depends on what his role is, and it would be nice to have a firm answer on that.

For now, it's involvement in the head coaching search. I know some people want that to be Spytek alone, but I want Spytek to be able to work with someone on that instead of doing it alone. I've hired lots of people and I like involving others in the process, even if I'm the one making the decision. I value the opinions of others - even ones that contradict mine and contradict the decision I ultimately make.

It's unreal the amount of people that dont believe you can address multiple pieces of your team at once with a competent staff. But whoever doesn't believe it begins with getting your QB is 100% wrong. Especially when there is one staring you in the face.
Correcto. This does not necessarily entail a massive rebuilding effort. Get our QB, Get our coach and address the weaknesses. This team is not void of talent. I know this sounds simple enough and maybe Mark will finally realize a triumph of an uncluttered mind.

Don’t disagree with any of that, but do feel like we’re not talking about the same issue. In any case I’m hoping for the right decision(s) on some hugely important moves, no matter how they’re arrived at.

That last sentence though. Our beloved part owner needs to take note.
Falcons hired Matt Ryan as President of Football. Ryan spent 14 of his 15 years in the NFL as a player with the Falcons, winning the MVP in 2016 and making four Pro Bowls. He signed a one-day contract to retire with the organization and was inducted into the Falcons’ ring of honor in 2024. Ryan is putting his reputation on the line in taking a job many believe was created specifically for him as the Falcons’ President of Football. He’s been granted full control with final say over all football decisions, including leading the search for the team’s next head coach and general manager. Ryan will pause his broadcasting career at CBS while he takes over the Falcons.[/i]

The main difference in the two situations is Ryan has been hired as an employee of the Falcons, as Brady is an owner with no specific known role and is not an employee . . . but the thought process is the same.

yep, I believe Ryan has to step away from the booth as an employee of a team. Owner in the booth? That was a first time thing so they made an executive decision to allow it with some limitations. That said, get Brady to Vegas so we can get him with Mendoza in a couple months so they do what they can to get the kid ramped up.

I'm not a Brady fan, for obvious/selfish/childish reasons. But, if I can have him mentoring/working with Mendoza..... hell f[raiders_icon]cking yes!

I would love for Brady to work with Mendoza because if he did that he would probably take it to the same level of maniacal preparation as he did in his own playing career.

I get why some people hate Brady. Success rubs some wrong if they are not supporting that organization. I had an irrational hatred for Rothlesburger and admit it freely but I grew up hating the Steelers. Some hate him because he cost us a SB berth (even though he had nothing to do with it) and some hate him because he gets beautiful women to bang his ass. I am sure there are other reasons.
Me, I hate our goober owner and what he has done to the team so I want someone else to pinch hit for that clown. And I am willing to try pretty much anything. Get Brady and Spytek to begin the process of our head coach, prepping for our new golden boy and draft like motherf[raiders_icon]ckers. Buy us a line and some defense and roll out the new and improved Raiders.
Or we can screw it up. I give it a 50/50 chance.

I don't hate Brady for his success. I don't hate him at all. It all goes back to that one fateful evening on Jan 19, 2002

Like I said... childish. He's one of ours now, so I have to just get over it.

Patriots dynasty started that day. Now he needs to repay the favor and make us a dynasty.
