Predict the 2026 record - your realistic expectations

With Mendoza needing time to adjust, an unproven O line and what I consider average receivers, I’m not really expecting to light it up on offense.

Defensively, we should be at least middle of the pack. That should go a long ways in helping stack wins.

Having said that, we are improved across the board yet still more work to do. I would predict we have 6 wins this year, double what we had last year. If Pete can manage 3 last year, I have faith with a better coaching staff we can do better. If we can beat the teams we’re supposed to plus staying close in the 4th quarter against better talent, we have a punchers chance in some of those.

Personally, at least another year or two to make some real noise if we nail FA and the draft.

Having a 50-50 chance of winning each game would make me happy, yes you always have a 50-50 someone has to win and someone has to lose i just want that feel of it being a surprise. That’s the only thing that really scares me about the season, the O Line, feels like we are paying a lot of an experienced QB not only to help mentor Mendoza but to get knocked on his ass a lot, at lead Diaper Pete’s kid isn’t there, another win for us.
Majority of games played are not 50/50. At least on paper, one team generally has the more talented team. Vegas was not built on a flip of a coin.

Well what i meant, just in a crappily posted way, and my best hope is we turn it into a coin flip. Thank god we don’t pay by the character in posts

I hope we turn it into odds in our favor every week. I want to dominate. I want teams to circle our game weeks in advance. I want to win by double digits on a consistent basis.

But most of all, I want to look forward to be able to go to poker night with the guys and not be the brunt of the joke.

I had to get up in the morning at ten o’clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing “Hallelujah.”

I'm okay with that. I actually feel when a team overachieves in the first season under a new coaching staff and QB (Commanders), that there is nowhere to go but down the following season and I think the best thing for this organization is to have measured success and year over year growth so winning 8 games would be a pretty successful season IMO.

I’m not so concerned about the record as I am with how we play.

Offense, I’m mostly just concerned with how the OL looks and if/when we get to see Mendoza.

Defense, has improved but it still needs a lot more talent. I’m interested to see how Rob’s defense looks as a first time DC. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up a scapegoat for year 1 and Schwartz is brought in year 2 once he’s free to sign anywhere.

I think this thread is about expectations for this season not 2 or 3 yrs from now. So again I’ll be happy if we have a fair chance to win every week.

Yeah I remember that game; and then almost all the raider fans were talking about who we would meet in the superbowl; but that change after we played the next game

Agreed. I just don’t know if it’s reality tho, however, I’d be happy if we compete most games. Heck, even good teams lose by more than they should, and sometimes to less talented teams. Any given Sunday, like they say.
