Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 5:09 pm Whats the BS? Are you saying that he was not being insubordinate to Spytek? This team has had a culture problem for decades. And letting a player publicly diss his GM without repercussion contributes to that. The culture of this team needs to change, and you cant have such a lack of discipline where a player thinks he can get away with dissing the management. No CEO of any organization can afford to tolerate that, because if he does, he becomes just another fella. Either you are going to have discipline or youre not. And a football team has to have discipline. I think its counterproductive to keep a loose cannon around for this rebuild, especially given his age and injury history. But if they do let him stay, somethings gotta give.
I am not trying to pile on. Be specific. What insubordination are you referring to? What exactly did he say or do that was insubordinate?

Did he undermine coaches and upper management? Did he publicly insult Spytek like Antonio Brown did with Mayock?

I am sorry, I just do not see it.

Why did he post that video when he did? What was he trying to say?

He definitely had intent with that video but it doesn’t come close to an egregious offense. Guys get POd all the time and everyone finds a way to move on most of the time.

Says the guy who wrote, "all he did was miss a day of work". Now thats some epic revisionist history to suit an agenda.

I am interpreting his motives and actions. Given his state of mind and the very short temporal relation, it strains credulity to say it was just coincidental. I think it was at the very least, a passive-aggressive act of insubordination. And it was actually more than just insubordination. What he did can also be easily construed as him(Crosby) passive-aggressively accusing Spytek of malfeasance.

There is reading between the lines and then there is just making shit up to fit my agenda . Plenty of real things to be mad about in this world today without making things up IMO

He plays when on the field. But he is not the leader that others seem to think he is. A leader is supposed to set the tone and be an example for the rest. A leader leads first by example. Is undermining the GM the example we want set as we rebuild? You cant have one set of rules for your star on the field and another set for your lesser players. I cant think of anything more corrosive to an organization's culture than that. And this is not the first time that he has petulantly inserted himself into decisions above his paygrade and tried to leverage the decision he wanted. He doesnt even have the decency to be right when he does. If ever Spytek doesnt know what to do, he should just ask Crosby, and then do the opposite. If he is to remain on the team, he needs to be told in no uncertain terms that undermining the GM is not one of his prerogatives. But given his age, injury history and current state of the team I think a parting of the ways would be better.

And what's your agenda? Willfully ignoring the obvious conclusion to be drawn to support a player you like? There are many people who view that video as an FU to management, so Im not making @#%$ up.

I dunno. I don't believe any of this should be a firing squad offense. Everyone gripes about their job at some point or another. Considering the shit show this team has been under Mark's watch, who could really blame him?

I have no doubt he will buy into what the new regime would like to do. I am not a fan of addition by subtraction.

I agree with the sentiment that Maxx has gotten far too big for his britches. The basketball video SHOULD have been beneath him, unless that’s a behavior one considers “leading”. I think it’s childish. He also “lead” the way for the players on Antonio Pierce…

“If we go in a different direction, there’s nothing that’s off the table… Honestly, nothing’s off the table.”

I don’t know about you all, but I can’t stand passive-aggressive horseshit like that. It’s pure LeBron, and I’ve never been able to stand LeBron. Why would I think it’s okay for Maxx to behave the same? Cause he’s white? Cause he plays hard? Cause he’s a “Raider”. Pfft.

Trade the Valhalla Mamba. Let him play for a team whose Super Bowl possibilities are definitely next year. A “contender”. Not us who are in the beginning stages of a rebuild. We know how he feels about rebuilding…

“I’m not here to rebuild. I’m here to win. I’m here to win now… Wherever I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be here to win.”

At this juncture he provides more for the team as a trade asset than as a great on-the-field talent and off-the-field “entertainer”.

I mean the lies about his leadership aren’t doing you any favours

He lead when he is on the field & from what we know about off the field from his teammates who around him way more than you he is a great leader as well

You talk about his loyalty to the team & doing whats right for the team but why should players show loyalty to who they play for as they could be cut or traded in a moment without say so

I guarantee no one will be complaining about being loyal & doing what is right for the team when we are showing Geno the door

If we trade him for good value then great if we dont then great it is win win either way at that moment in time

Raiders MVP quarterback Rich Gannon reveals Crosby doens’t want out

"Maxx and I are talking,” Gannon started to say on Sirius XM. “We're talking about everything about last year, this year, and his rehab. Dude, he's in the building every day. He's so dialed in. He's in the weight room working out. He's rehabbing, and he said, 'I'm going to be fine in a couple of weeks.' All this nonsense about him no longer wanting to play for the Raiders, I don't know that to be true.

“Talking to him yesterday, that is about the furthest thing from that guy's mind. He feels like there's unfinished business. Is he tired and fatigued with all the turnover and the starting over again? Absolutely, who wouldn't be? But this guy is wired differently."
