Good read..here’s an excerpt on the Oline..
"A lot of guys were out of their natural position," left tackle Kolton Miller told ESPN. "It's not easy, but [Brennan Carroll] tried to get the best of us together each week."

An agent of a Raiders offensive lineman said that his client told him the position group met multiple times on their own with Smith and Jeanty, and specifically without coaches, so the quarterback and running back could talk to them about how they wanted the offensive line to create blocks.

"It was that bad," the agent told ESPN. "They were meeting on their own and trying to figure it out together, which I have never heard of in my history of working in this league."

"There is some sort of nepotism going on," a fourth agent of a Raiders player said.

That for sure. Matt was making around 3 million for broadcast work, where Brady's makes a bit over 37 million per. Completely different leagues.

Brady has grown to be pretty good as an analyst, after what I thought was a mediocre start. He's still not great - right now Olsen is in a league of his own. I get that people tune in to hear Brady because of the star power and that's going to factor into the money, but he's way overpaid IMO. I won't really miss him on games and I'd like him to quit and just focus on the Raiders. Regardless, part time or full time, I think his presence replaces Mark Davis' input as a representative of ownership and that's a major win.

It was a crazy contract, his salary doesn't bring in that difference, but hey it's done and I'm sure to Brady that's huge, he can't walk from an over $350 mil contract.

He needs the money to work towards becoming the controlling owner

Possibly that is part of the long term play.

Some talking-heads have said once the playoffs are done Brady is going to leave the booth and be full-time with The Raiders.

I know there’s a few whose panties get twisted with anything Patriots-related or “Pats West”, and I agree that the way things have been done prior to emulate the Pats has been all wrong. Not surprising considering Doofus has been at the controls, primarily.

You can’t grab some some piece of Pats history (McDumbfuck) and drop it into the present hoping to recreate it. Especially at the coaching position. Of course Doofus didn’t pay attention. Namely: Matt Patricia, Joe Judge, Eric Mangini, Romeo Crennel, Bill O’Brien, Charlie Weis. Endless examples of failure.

What can be done, and what the Patriots actually did, was dumb-luck their way into drafting Tom Brady. Just like we’ve made all the perfect coaching hires to dumb-luck our way to Mendoza.

Mendoza looks like he can get us there. Not the Patriots, but what they were, a dynasty. A winning organization made possible by having the hardest working most cerebral quarterback in the NFL. A leader. A Raider. Our Quarterback.

I've stayed supportive for a long time. Now I have to say, Sorry, but let the GM do his f[raiders_icon]cking job! Brady is not the GM. Maybe use him a a salesperson, but for f[raiders_icon]cks sake, when can we start to run this like a real organization, with the GM doing his job, getting his guys without meddling from others, and then let him live or die by his decisions?

When was the last time that happened? Withe Reggie, no?

Any evidence that Brady is the GM? All I have read is that he has been asked for some input on some things. That’s different than him acting like the GM

Brady should absolutely be involved in interviews. His understanding of Xs and Os is likely second to none. A good round of questions that most people wouldn’t be able to answer

Whether it's x's and o's or not, you need more people in the room than just the GM. It's too big a decision for that. Brady is a smart guy plus he obviously knows football and knows a lot about football coaches. He's better equipped to support Spytek in this search than other owners and probably better than team presidents around the league too.

Vrabel took them from 4-13 to 14-3 was that dumb luck???

Xs and Os. Situational football. He has a ton of insight that can help with interviewing these guys

I agree. I think it's not just football though - it's about knowing people, and I think that one of the greatest leaders in the history of sports knows something about that. I've hired plenty of people and brought people in to help with the interview process who weren't experts in the field we were hiring for simply because it's good to have another perspective on the person.

There are guys who know scheme, situational football - all the technical shit, but they can't lead people. That includes a number of failed NFL head coaches.
