Week 1 is always strange.pfish57 wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:48 pm How the hell did we beat the Pats...they seem to know how to rebuild!!!
I don't see it as comfort and convenience. I think they did what they could to improve the team. I think they scoured league wide.I don't see it as a lazy route. They have a lot of cap space they didn't use though, but maybe it was smart to take a wait and see approach. Yes,they didn't try and build a championship in the preseason. But they made some good moves knowing it takes time to access the strengths and weeknesses in order to make the best possible changes.Corleone wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:36 pm It’s not even about a championship at this point, it’s about building a culture of competitiveness. I’m not sure I see that happening right now. I see a staff and roster built on comfort and convenience. Pete brought in Geno because it was easy and didn’t take any ingenuity. Spytek and Pete brought in guys they know because it was convenient and easier than scouring league wide. Our organization took the lazy route this offseason, this is not how you build a championship team.
What good moves?XSeahawksFan wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:52 pmBut they made some good moves knowing it takes time to access the strengths and weeknesses in order to make the best possible changes.
To name a few: Gino Smith. Jamal Adams. Thomas Booker. Laki Tasi's potential looks good.
Geno Smith was a great move from the Seattle perspective. Not so much from the Raiders side. He’s going to likely get benched soon and will carry 18 mil in dead cap space after we cut him. Simply awful. No other transactions moved the needle.XSeahawksFan wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:21 pm To name a few: Gino Smith. Jamal Adams. Thomas Booker. Laki Tasi's potential looks good.
Geno blows. Terrible move. Booker is solid. Adams is ok.XSeahawksFan wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:21 pm To name a few: Gino Smith. Jamal Adams. Thomas Booker. Laki Tasi's potential looks good.
If Geno was in Seattle with the O-line that is healthy and playing this year they would be undefeated. So, I disagree.Corleone wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:32 pm Geno Smith was a great move from the Seattle perspective. Not so much from the Raiders side. They tried to sign him, Schneider said so publicly. Darnold was plan B.Corleone wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:32 pm Geno Smith was a great move from the Seattle perspective. Wow highly talented is not what most people would say about Smith right now or in the past 10 yearsXSeahawksFan wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:48 pm If Geno was in Seattle with the O-line that is healthy and playing this year they would be undefeated. So, I disagree.
If Raiders bench Geno than that will prove the organization is just like the Jets and Panthers. Perpetual losers who continually move on from highly talented players.
Ok, you got me. Nice troll job, feel silly for taking the bait.
Honestly not a troll job at all. Just a conversation. You were asking questions and I was answering. No disrespect intended.Corleone wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 9:08 pm Ok, you got me. Nice troll job, feel silly for taking the bait.
You have got to be kidding.XSeahawksFan wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:48 pm If Geno was in Seattle with the O-line that is healthy and playing this year they would be undefeated. So, I disagree.
