I don't absolutely hate it but the Pat's first and second is closer to a lot of teams' second and third.RI RAIDER wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 10:55 am Sports radio here was talking about Barmore and the Pats 1st and 2nd for Max. I know a sports publication (I do not remember which one) proposed this trade a while back. I think thats about as good of a trade as we can get and TBH, I would not hate it. Barmore is younger than Max and plays a more difficult position to fill (DT). He was a STUD than had a blood clot (and missed most of the season). When he came back, the Pats switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 which I think hurt him somewhat.
For what it is worth, when he was asked the question, he was either the best used car salesman I have ever seen or he truly thought Crosby will be back next year. Now both could be true for all of that, but that is what I saw. Now someone is going to accuse me of seeing what I wanted to see and not what was actually on display.chucker wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 11:26 am You can't come away from Spytek's comments on Maxx and say for sure if the Raiders are trading him or not. The biggest takeaway is that he's too smart to diminish any value with stupid comments, and that he's going to be a tough negotiator if any trade happens.
There's literally no way buying a used car can prepare you for the level of subterfuge NFL General Managers employ during combine week. It's actually ridiculous to suggest you know one way or another whether Spytek is being honest or not.Attyla wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:06 pm For what it is worth, when he was asked the question, he was either the best used car salesman I have ever seen or he truly thought Crosby will be back next year. Why? I watched the body language and how quickly he responded. I saw the facial expression. If he is planning on trading Crosby it was a damn good act.NoThanksSir wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:14 pm There's literally no way buying a used car can prepare you for the level of subterfuge NFL General Managers employ during combine week. If you believe buying a beater Toyota is the same as drafting/trading an elite athlete, then I think the rest of your posts will speak for themselves. There's probably a dozen recent examples of GMs saying this shit during combine week while they're actively negotiating a deal.Attyla wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:17 pm Why? It is an expression. You have never heard someone who is slick in their delivery of false information referred to as a used car salesman? Maybe that one is a big old for you.NoThanksSir wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:24 pm If you believe buying a beater Toyota is the same as drafting/trading an elite athlete, then I think the rest of your posts will speak for themselves. Maybe he doesn't get traded. But coming onto a football forum and saying "Based on my reading of his facial expressions, he was honest," Is like saying you'd invest in a classic car based on a youtube video of it starting up. You're talking out of your ass. None of us really know one way or the other, but your opinions are somehow above others when it comes to speculation.
Also, I did say that was what I saw, I did not say anything about anyone else's opinion on the subject. I did say for what it is worth. I was not jamming my opinion down anyone's throat. I actually thought my comment was pretty respectful. Cheerios get pissed on this morning?NoThanksSir wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:24 pm If you believe buying a beater Toyota is the same as drafting/trading an elite athlete, then I think the rest of your posts will speak for themselves. I understand it was an expression lol. You're grasping at straws. Just let people disagree with you. Save us all from the old man crashout.Attyla wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:28 pm It is an expression. The level of edits on your posts are historic. No one said you can disallow posts, just that you have a hard time with those that disagree with you. Point proven

Fantastic post.Viper wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 3:13 pm Spy said what he said, the way he said it, because he’s a GM with a highly touted player that happens to play on his team. His asset, probably his decision. It does no good to play into the rumors and hurt our chances at a decent return. Matter of fact, I’m glad Maxx is letting it ride and not feeding it atm either. He said what he said because that’s the play, and rightfully so. No sense trying to read anything into it because he can’t, won’t tip his hand.
