As the title says, split off from the college thread: opine about all things kickers. Truly riveting.

Oh and Seabass is overrated by Raider fans.

Willmark will always take the bait when it comes to Seabass. He's also always right about Seabass.

I disagree with the poll wording, but I selected widgets anyway.

On one hand I can respect his Bobby Layne screw the fact I’m hung over mentality and went out there. On the other hand when we truly needed him to nail a kick he was always good for a shank or slice from 42 yards out.

Which one happened, depended on how hungover he was on Sunday.

Our kicker was drafted, but not by the Raiders. Pineiro was one of the best this season, and we had him as a udfa on the offseason roster but he got injured and was eventually traded after with picked up Carlson that same season when Carlson washed out with the Vikings.

Carlson is making over $5 this year and I think he can be cut with no dead money. The last few years he’s become mid to low 80% accuracy which is lower mid tier. Not terrible but he’s being paid like he’s in the top group.

I think he’s a free agent after this year.

Carlson is a FA. I’d be happy to have him back if the money works. Kickers are getting good money now and his last contract ended up about mid pack by the end of it. I think mid pack money is about right.

That’s where I’m at. I feel like he’ll still be good &, be more accurate like when he first joined the team. If he’ll stay for cheaper, since he’s had a couple erratic seasons, I’d bring him back. Kickers aren’t as easy to find as people think. I definitely wouldn’t give him a pay raise.

If they have a better/solid alternative plan at K, I’d be ok with that too.
