The Run Game
Why is it so poor?
Is the OL?
Is Jeanty not seeing the holes?
We need a legit WR to open things up?
Please advise.

I think you are right, especially considering JPJ was not a Spy pick.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 5:39 am Just saw Kubiak say Rogers over JPJ was his decision.
Feels like JPJ is on his way out. We have work to do on the o-line this offseason.

jpj os so overrated ...he is similar to james the center whom routinely got manhandled by stronger type opponents, doesn't excel anywhere on the lineRI RAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 7:30 am I think you are right, especially considering JPJ was not a Spy pick.

kubiaks offensive chops show up in spades, imagine if our running game was good how lethal the offense would look would be...i agree defense, defense in the draftRabidraider wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 7:28 am With the Raiders currently the 2nd highest scoring team in the NFL with all the flaws, says spend the draft on the defense.

As far as the running game we’ve gone from it’s Kirk’s fault he can’t throw past 15 yards which is obviously not true, to Jeanty, to the line.
What’s most likely? Klint’s Offense predicated on running first but doesn’t have the guards he wants to pull it off.
I have to wonder why Zuhn isn’t getting more reps out there.
It’s likely a combination of factors but i don’t think it’s Cousins. Stacking the line is another factor but Kirk seems to be getting us into the right plays but we can’t seem to pull it off.
Add to all this? The teams we are playing are some of the best in the NFL.

I would imagine that that is part of the plan, but those are often a target for other teams, as well, as you can only afford to overpay so many center and guards on a given line, so in reality, we may not necessarily end up getting our first choice at that position, and for still big money, that does add to the risk.
...no one would be comfortable behind a line with overpaid interior lineman, and bargain bin bookends, so budgeting accordingly does come in to play, if the goal is a sustained contender...

...regarding kirks arm, it seems like everyone has worked themselves in to a later over the nice end zone pass to tucker , but not all of the other longer passes he tried to throw, and were either off target, or when off pressured a bit, weak, as his arm can't compensate when conditioned are not just right to follow through with that long pass., as is more often the case on most given plays .Willmark wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 9:08 am As far as the running game we’ve gone from it’s Kirk’s fault he can’t throw past 15 yards which is obviously not true, to Jeanty, to the line.

Maybe Kubiak should work with what he has. Be a pass first offense. Use the pass (7th ranked) to open up the run (28th ranked). We have Tucker and Benson who can stretch the field and maybe open up those mid range routes to move the linebackers back. Running game will do a lot better without a stacked box. I admit that I didn't see the game yesterday so I don't know how many eight man fronts the offense faced.

Raiders average 27 points a game so far.
The offense could even do better but,
It's the defense that needs the attention.

It’s entirely possible that is the case. It’s also possible what we saw.WNYRAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 10:01 am ...regarding kirks arm, it seems like everyone has worked themselves in to a later over the nice end zone pass to tucker , but not all of the other longer passes he tried to throw, and were either off target, or when off pressured a bit, weak, as his arm can't compensate when conditioned are not just right to follow through with that long pass., as is more often the case on most given plays .
Point is we aren’t losing because of Kirk. And give the crapfest of QBs since Gannon? That alone is a win.

It needs to be said, but to be this bad rushing the ball, more than one of these things need to be true:
- Jeanty was not worth the 6th overall pick, and playing him hurt is not the most competitive decision for winning games
- Burford and JPJ/Rogers are the worst guard tandem in the league. We're 6th in the league in PPG but the offense looks inept when we call runs up the middle and have to punt.
- Tyler Linderbaum is getting paid 27 mill a year and is quickly becoming part of the problem, not the solution

I understand Linderbaum is getting a haul to play Center and he struggled Sunday but lets be honest, Deonte Walker is literally the Brock Bowers of Nose Tackles. He's probably the best NT we will face this season.NoThanksSir wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 10:41 am It needs to be said, but to be this bad rushing the ball, more than one of these things need to be true:
