All I can say is hopefully it blows over and cooler heads prevail. Him playing was a no-win proposition (pun intended). Hopefully he sees that with some time to cool offBoKnows81 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 8:18 am The second he left the facility like he did yesterday, teams looking to trade for him got an automatic discount. It's just the way it is with disgruntled players.

This is quite the about face for you. What a difference 1 week makes.Attyla wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 11:37 am So you think the teams eliminating players like they are is not a tank? I mean I am the most staunch guy when it comes to teams tanking but this is so obviously a tank it is not even funny. Giants are doing the same thing. Chiefs feel like they are not really tanking but they are doing the whole 'live to fight another day" thing. But the Giants and Raiders are tanking. Or is the conspiracy theory bit a reference to something else?

I am the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist and they actually annoy me to no end. But whoever doesn't think this is a blatantly obvious tank job by both teams (mainly the Raiders), has blinders on.
All I know is if we are investigated, then the Commanders should be investigated too since they were the ones that started it weeks ago by "shutting down" Jayden Daniels once eliminated.

I will maintain that is a move to protect their asset and not a tank. But come on, we all know Maxx could play. We know that if we were in it Bowers would play. The Raiders have made a behind the scenes deal with Carroll that he keeps his job but he has to make it look good. They are helping by taking out key players. It would not surprise me if Olsen is in on it with an agreement to make him the guy next year. They probably did the same thing with Geno. It would not surprise me if he hit the first batter he faced (let's see who gets that obscure reference) and throws three picks in the game. And if the Giants just bat the balls down, Geno will start fumbling. Jeanty? Waiting to see his snap counts.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 11:49 am I am the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist and they actually annoy me to no end. The "nothing burger" is that I don't believe there's any way the NFL can prove and then penalize the Raiders for shutting down or not playing certain players without levying the same sanctions on other teams.

I don’t think there’s anything to investigate because there’s nothing illegal about putting a bad lineup on the field. Teams have full autonomy to manage their lineup.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 11:49 am I am the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist and they actually annoy me to no end. I think as far as where tanking becomes illegal - you’d have to give explicit orders to your active players to throw the game. Assuming we’re not that stupid… I’d say there’s nothing to see here.

Just in case, my mention of "conspiracy theorists" was in no way directed at you or anyone on this board for that matter. I was only commenting on the banter about the Raiders being investigated and possibly penalized by the league for "tanking" because I don't think there's any way they can prove it anymore than we can disprove it.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 11:49 am I am the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist and they actually annoy me to no end. If the tank is real, that means there are people with direct knowledge. It takes one to admit to the deal to "prove" it. Actually it takes two, but it takes one to leverage a second.raidersince63 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:03 pm Just in case, my mention of "conspiracy theorists" was in no way directed at you or anyone on this board for that matter. I do not think the legitimacy of shutting Maxx down will be questioned. Non issue.

Not at all man. I dont even think I saw your mention of it. We're good! As for being investigated, its absolutely possible nothing comes of it. All I was saying is that I wouldn't be surprised if we were. I also agree that it cannot be proven.raidersince63 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:03 pm Just in case, my mention of "conspiracy theorists" was in no way directed at you or anyone on this board for that matter. Unless of course, we were in playoff contention. In which that article magically would of come out after the season.Toast wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:15 pm I do not think the legitimacy of shutting Maxx down will be questioned. Non issue.
