Predict the 2026 record - your realistic expectations
With Mendoza needing time to adjust, an unproven O line and what I consider average receivers, I’m not really expecting to light it up on offense.
Defensively, we should be at least middle of the pack. That should go a long ways in helping stack wins.
Having said that, we are improved across the board yet still more work to do. I would predict we have 6 wins this year, double what we had last year. If Pete can manage 3 last year, I have faith with a better coaching staff we can do better. If we can beat the teams we’re supposed to plus staying close in the 4th quarter against better talent, we have a punchers chance in some of those.
Personally, at least another year or two to make some real noise if we nail FA and the draft.

Realistic?
I expect Maxx and Kwity to set the edges and force runs to the middle where they have 2 excellent new LBs in Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean waiting.
They both excel at shooting the A and B gaps to meet the ball carrier and they both can shed linemen.

Look, I love Dean and really liked the signing. But I think people need to understand what comes with him. He's gonna be out. A lot. His availability, or lack thereof, has been his downfall. We need a competent backup ready at all times.KillerRaider30 wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 4:37 pm Realistic?

I am by no means a Geno Smith apologist but he was not placed into a situation that allowed him to be successful. Could a better QB have mitigated the offensive line deficiencies and Chip Kelly's helter skelter Chico you're the bottle cap, Jack you're the popsicle stick play calling? I dunno.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 9:53 am If you put a competent QB on that team last year, we'd have a few more wins. Without a doubt in my mind. Chip or no Chip. It's on tape. Geno singlehandedly lost games for us. Now in hindsight, obviously that wouldn't of been a good thing and Geno was not the only problem last year but he was in fact the main problem. Whatever, time to move on. Mendoza time.
Rich Gannon probably would have lost his shit and took control of the offense.
I am just glad we are done with those hacks.

Geno was so bad last year I would welcome him back. Once a Raider...
Number 7
If Mendoza ever wins a SB Geno should get a ring. Add Pete also because he knew what he was doing. Lol

EXACTLY!
The tank started when Tom Brady came aboard.
Tom Brady’s bid to buy a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders was officially approved by NFL owners on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Pete Carroll was officially hired as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, January 25, 2025
Brady had 3 months to workout the plan with everyone. Get the kinks out. Lol

If the Jets get the first pick next year it'll be historic.
Because what QB has ever started 2 consecutive years, and in both the team drafted 1.1?

I asked AI to project Mendoza's final career stats because, well, it pisses some people off and here was the result
Passing yards: 63404
TDs: 422
Completion percentage: 65.9%
Total wins 171
Seasons Played 18 (meaning he will win 9.5 per season)
SB Wins 2
MVP awards 2
Pro Bowl Selections 10
HOF chances Lock for the class of 2049
However, AI pillaged these stats from DraftKings
But AI did find this gem. Mendoza is already a Hall of Famer. He has been inducted into the inaugural class in the category of "College Player of the Year" by the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame. The Hispanic Football Hall of Fame is located in Southern Nevada with physical exhibits, educational programs and such. and the induction venue is the Las Vegas Raiders Headquarters. Along side Mendoza, the inaugural inductees include Anthony Munoz, Ron Rivera, Jim Plunkett, Tom Flores, Ted Hendricks, Tom Fears, and Steve Van Buren. While Mendoza was honored at the event as their college player of the year, he was not alone. Nik Bonitto was the pro player of the year, and Ryan Estrada was the high school player of the year. Since the class was so heavily Raiders, I then asked AI if this was just an invention of the Raiders. AI assured me that no, it was founded by Munoz and Rivera, the Raiders merely hosted the event. Fun fact, AI then informed me of something I had forgotten. Flores nickname was the Iceman due to his calm demeanor.

AI didn’t by chance mention the years we would win the Super Bowls, did it?? I’m just trying to figure out if I can live that long. Anything longer than 10 years is getting dicey on my end.Attyla wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 5:52 am I asked AI to project Mendoza's final career stats because, well, it pisses some people off and here was the result

2033 and 2036 according to AI. AI also says he will be a first team all pro twice in his career. Artificial Intelligence rocks his career. On a sidebar note, Artificial Intelligence states that it is unlikely that it will ever become sentient. It does however argue that even people in the creation and expansion of AI do not have a solid definition for what constitutes sentience. As of right now, it is a tool that just uses the vast amount of data out there to create answers to questions. But it did beat out the most powerful Jeopardy winners to win the AI Jeopardy challenge.Viper wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 6:08 am AI didn’t by chance mention the years we would win the Super Bowls, did it?? Just like every team, we have average players. It's coaching that makes the difference. Good coaching gets the most out of out of the players it has while bad coaching makes the average player look below average. This isn't meant to dismiss the fact that top 10 teams almost always have stars at certain positions.Viper wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 10:14 am Teams need 22 starters, not including special teams players. I consider this to mean that these 22 would start on most teams, and in my view we have probably a little over half that number. This doesn’t even take into account depth for rest and injuries that happen to every team, every year. A .500 team isn’t realistic imo and will take at minimum a couple years to achieve playoff status. It’s just tough to be patient in the rebuild process after suffering for decades.
Expectations need to be gradual growth but always upward.
Football is like chess. There are the same pieces on the board but it's how they're used in each circumstance that matters.
Kubiak and Co's job isn't just to bring Fernando along. It's just as important to be able to elevate the play of the guys that are already on the team.

Coaching makes a big difference, no doubt. I believe the general consensus league wide by people with much more experience than us would be that the level of talent on our team is below most other teams. Better players equals superior teams winning more games.Opoponax50 wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 6:42 am Just like every team, we have average players. It's coaching that makes the difference. What doesn’t get mentioned enough imo is timing and play calling. Setting teams up with different strategies and being unpredictable, and yes, that’s coaching.
