Pelissero added that the Raiders will be paying the bulk of Smith's salary to facilitate the trade and the Jets will get the QB while paying a little over the league minimum.

Looks like we have to wait to see how Geno restructured the deal first.

Maybe this is strategy to get the 1st pick. They see how Geno has helped Vegas

Want to see the details. Sounds like Geno negotiated down his salary from 26.5 to get more than just the 18.5 million guaranteed plus the league minimum if he was outright cut. Maybe something like he took a 2 million bonus from LV and the 1 million league minimum from the Jets in exchange for the 8 million he would have lost if cut. That would mean we paid an extra 2 million (or whatever the bonus actually was) on top of the 18.5 million guarantee for that pick swap.

Idk how the hell Spytek pulled this off?
The Jets should sign and start Cappa if they're looking to pull a Pete.
Man-O-Man, thanks Geno. You helped with many loses. Good luck and good riddance.
Friggin Jets. Eye roll lol

Highly doubt the Raiders took on any more of the contract that they had to already for a 6th round pick. And a pick swap at thatCruisin with Tooz wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:45 am Want to see the details. Does that mean the Raiders get an extra $6M of cap space?Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:45 am Want to see the details. When did Pete Carroll become the senior advisor for the Jets?

I think its 1.3 mil and a better draft pick. Basically get the 6 back we traded for Taron Johnson.LesterHayesHOFer wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:51 am Does that mean the Raiders get an extra $6M of cap space?

How else can you explain it? Its reported that the Jets are only taking on the league minimum. What reason would Geno forgo the ability to negotiate with all 31 teams if he wasnt getting the league minimum plus something extra? And how would LV be getting draft capital if they werent the ones providing the something extra? Need to see the details.Goodtimes333 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:51 am Highly doubt the Raiders took on any more of the contract that they had to already for a 6th round pick. And a pick swap at that
