On another note, Mendoza has caused me to do something I haven’t done in years. Yesterday I actually looked up when “Madden” will be released. Madden NFL ‘27. August 14th-21st.

It's really easy to get too excited and drink too much koolaid because of the players we got in FA, and because Maxx is back on the roster. I do think that the outlook is different than it was a week ago. But we have to cool our jets a bit because there are still growing pains with a first overall pick at QB and with a rebuilt roster after a 3-14 season. Here's a little reality check - don't freak out over losses this year, and don't sweat it if we still have holes this offseason. Just keep Mendoza healthy and let the kid, and the team around him, develop.

It's funny this came up because I was visiting about the draft with a friend of mine yesterday (not a Raiders fan). While on the subject of Mendoza he came up with Tim Tebow with Baker Mayfield's skillset. Kind of an odd composite but I suppose if you squint you may see it.

I don't believe Raider fans are chugging the Kool Aid about the kid either, most agree that he is the real deal.
