In my lifetime yanks have 7 and dodgers have 6.
As a Laker fan is hasn’t helped me knowing that overall the Lakers have bested the Warriors 267–178 but rather the Warriors have kicked the Lakers asses for well over a decade in the Curry/Kerr era.
I enjoy recent history ;)

1. ARod cheated and repeatedly. I view him like the rest of the roid guys. Jose, Sammy, Mark, Bonds and Roger being the face of the cheats and ARod is just another face. Pettite not so much, by his own admission, he did it once and regretted it almost immediately. At his press conference, unlike the Dbags who ducked everything, Andy sat there and answered every question, did not duck one of them and was candid about his error.
2. Judge is a great player and like a lot of great players, he has his slumps, it is baseball, everyone slumps.
3. Dodgers are a great team, but right now, so are the Yanks who continue to manufacture wins.
4. Baseball needs to figure out how to control team spending, until they do that, the league will suffer.

Most impactful defensive outfield game of the season? Ya Think? Saved 3 HRs to preserve a 1-0 win is the most impactful defensive game ever.

What the hell is going on with baseball these days? You have to pay for everything, there are no free games on tv anymore? WTF is up with this. Those idiots are going to kill the sport. In 20 years when all the old school fans that grew up with and played the sport will be gone and the younger generation won't care. Baseball will die.
I tried to watch any A's or Giants games and I keep getting a popup saying that have to sign into some mlb site every 30 days. f[raiders_icon]ck that and f[raiders_icon]ck MLB. The game is completely screwed until they put into law some type of spending cap limits that are solid like the NFL's. Until then just give the WS trophy to the Yankees and Dodgers, they can alternate years so each coast gets it every other year.
f[raiders_icon]ck sports these days they all suck.

Just a few years back a black player on the Yankees made the observation that when he looks in the stands he basically see's no black fans. Do to costs black kids don't play baseball either in general. Very few black players in baseball anymore.
So besides baseball eventually losing the older fans to die off. The black community isn't interested in the sport either. And when you have to pay to see games you start taking the poor out of the equation too.
Baseball does still survive somehow. But I could see it dying eventually where they need to have less teams.
A new baseball deal is coming and there could be a major work stoppage. Not good.

I know I'm old man yelling at a cloud, and inflation hits everything, but just a decade or two ago you could go to a game for 20 or 30 bucks, parking and a hot dog included. Now it's gonna run you 130-150, just for one damn baseball game. Ouch.Rabidraider wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 5:42 am Just a few years back a black player on the Yankees made the observation that when he looks in the stands he basically see's no black fans. I use to go to games all the time with my adult sons. But between the expense and the fans being just nasty turned me off. Last year my sons begged me to go, and I said I'd rather just watch the game on TV. I also hate the blaring music before the game when I just want to soak up the stadium and talk. Must be getting old.raider_kin wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 7:23 am I know I'm old man yelling at a cloud, and inflation hits everything, but just a decade or two ago you could go to a game for 20 or 30 bucks, parking and a hot dog included. I usually hit up one or two minor league games here. But I am also getting old so I prefer not to sit in cramped seats and prefer the box seats which are more pricy, not overboard but pricy none the less.Rabidraider wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 7:29 am I use to go to games all the time with my adult sons. We also went to Trenton Thunder games which are the Yankee AA minor team but they moved them out of the area. Those were great fun.Attyla wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 12:01 pm I usually hit up one or two minor league games here. Yankees used to be on WPIX for all Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun games. WPIX I think now has some Fri games and the rest are on the Yankees YES network or you have to get the MLB package from DirectTV. At least theyre still on the Radio.

Thats a bit dire. If attendance and fan interest drops off significantly, It will just reach a new equilibrium. It will force ticket prices down, ad revenue down, television money down, player salaries down and eventually interest will rebuild as fans who were priced out, can access tickets. But I dont see it coming to that. Baseball is going to remain healthy here. It is very popular among Hispanics, and that is where the population growth is. Those kids are poor, yet find a way to play the game. Even world wide, its being played in places it never was 40 years ago, like Australia and Europe. Its being played everywhere now throughout the Americas, the Asia PAcific, Europe. Just about everywhere except Africa. If there's still interest in curling and luge, Im not too worried about baseball.Rabidraider wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 5:42 am Just a few years back a black player on the Yankees made the observation that when he looks in the stands he basically see's no black fans. I grew up listening to Vin Scully on my little AM radio, starting in the 60's. I miss that and I miss him.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 1:57 pm Yankees used to be on WPIX for all Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun games.
