No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

There are so many situational issues that makes comparing the two almost impossible. And their individual styles are in play as well which compounds the impossibility of comparing the two. Washington is being called way more to run off tackle or on sweeps. Washington is also way more likely to get throws to the flat. Jeanty is a find a hole and hit the hole runner. Contrasting them would be a far easier task.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 8:54 am To set the record straight after 4 games
Jeanty average is 3.4 per carry
Washington average is 5.0 yards per carry.
Taking extremely small sample sizes to prove a point is laughable.

In mock draft for 2027, he is often going #1 overall. Very slim chance we have that pick. Trade to get him? I would not do it given the lack of depth in our roster -- we need to keep hitting on draft picks.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 9:25 am I am usually not a fan of Ohio State players. That doesn't make sense, and that's where we separate.MexicanHulk wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 8:15 am & a player can be top 5 at a position & not be worth it. That being a RB. I said it.
That's because a good team shouldn't be punting and setting for 3.Also, Punter & Kicker.
This is an obvious attempt at moving the goal posts but I'll bite anyway.RBs aren’t worth top half of the first round unless they’re video game good.
Marshawn Lynch was drafted 12th overall and didn't really make his mark on the league until his second team.
The greatest RB's of all time were drafted at the top of the first round. Saquon Barkley had one of the greatest seasons for an RB in history and he was drafted second overall. Bo Jackson was a #1 overall pick!
You're way off with this take. Using "video-game good" is hindsight codewords to cover your tracks.
People love claiming this because it makes them feel like they stated something intelligent, but the facts contradict this claim:RBs are possibly the easiest position to find/get good production at.
Saquon Barkley: 1st round, pick 2
Jeremiyah Love: 1st round, pick 3
Ashton Jeanty: 1st round, pick 6
Bijaun Robinson: 1st round, pick 8
Christian McCaffery: 1st round, pick 8
Jahmyr Gibbs: 1st round, pick 12
Breece Hall: 2nd round, pick 36
Jonathan Taylor: 2nd round, pick 41
Kenneth Walker: 2nd round, pick 41
Derrick Henry: 2nd round, pick 45
The best RB's, past and present, are almost always exclusively drafted in the top 50.
Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins, Rich Gannon, Troy Aikman, John Elway, etc. would disagree with you. A good offensive line helps everyone equally, not just the RB.2) RB is the position most dependent on other positions for their success.
Not in recent history. In general, yes, but that doesn't mean the most talented RBs are "replaceable".3) The RB position has the lowest shelf life in terms of injury.
Again, the last remark is to cover your tracks and is hindsight codewords. I already debunked this, the best RB's are drafted in the top 50. It's rare that a great RB is drafted outside of that (James Cook, pick 63).Those reasons alone make it so the RB position shouldn’t be drafted top half of the first round. I wouldn’t even draft them in the first at all. Except in extreme rare cases.
People make illogical claims because they believe it makes them sound smart, like "We should spend all of our picks on OL! Hurr durr! We should have used our top pick for OL! Hurr durr!" No matter the draft class, roster, personnel, scheme, or current situation. They believe it makes them sound smart, but it actually exposes how little they actual know about the game.

Here is where we can stand out. This is a top end QB draft with as many as 7 projected as first round players. That means talent falls. We may not be in on Smith, but I do have a target I want and he might be there when we pick. Charlie Becker should be there and has developed into a great prospect. He is also very familiar with Mendoza and vice versa. He is a first round talent and he is also 6'4" with 4.35 speed and great hands. We are talking a top 10 talent in any other draft. But not this one.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 10:50 am In mock draft for 2027, he is often going #1 overall. Very slim chance we have that pick. Trade to get him? Im not sure its shaping up to be a top end qb draft so far. A lot of disappointing seasons so far ala last year. Itll be better than laat year overall but not at all living up to the hype at this point.Attyla wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 11:02 am Here is where we can stand out. As for the RB debate, and wow this grows old fast.
Terrell Davis
Arian Foster
LeSean McCoy
Curtis Martin
Thurmon Thomas
Frank Gore
Priest Holmes
Danny Woodhead (I include him because he was not even drafted and he is not the only one on this list)
Marion Motley (now there is a blast from the past)
Red Grange
Bronco Nagurski
Bo Jackson
Alvin Kamara
Nick Chubb
All of these guys were either drafted after round 1 or undrafted. I even included guys during the golden age of RBs. Hall of famers, and some also ran but were very good on the list. And almost every one of them were players when RBs were valued much higher. I know our resident "don't question me ever" will attempt to pick apart that list. But I could also have gone the other route and listed the biggest busts at RB who were first round picks. Guys like Ki Jana Carter (yes injuries derailed him but he stunk before the injuries) Trent Richardson and Lawrence Phillips were all first round guys who sucked ass. Ron Dayne was horrible...awe hell, here is a list of first round ass players. Include the guys mentioned thus far and....
Tommy Vardell (they took a fullback 9th overall)
Chris Perry (who does not remember this turd?)
Jarrod Bunch
Rashan Salaam
Biakabutuka
William Green
Alonzo Highsmith
Sammy Smith
DJ Dozier (Teammate of our own Steve Smith)
Curtis Enis
Now our resident "do not question my football "knowledge"" will say none of those guys should have been a first rounder because it will ruin my exact science "I am right" thing. But almost every one of those guys was a projected first rounder. Just saying.....carry on

Baltimore was desperate, they are a contender in the AFC and have lost their top 2 centers. Howie pounced on an opportunity to re-stock his flailing team

He's not. He's voluntarily deciding to bounce outside because he lacks vision to run between the tackles. Kubiak sees this and has since changed his playcalling to adapt to that in the second half of the KC game. I suspect Washington to get toss/sweeps exclusively unless Jeanty can't play.Attyla wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 10:00 am Washington is being called way more to run off tackle or on sweeps.
Washington has been terrible in the passing game so far. That's another reason why he doesn't split carries evenly. No one is holding Washington back; he just has major flaws in his game that caused the present result in his role.Washington is also way more likely to get throws to the flat. You're list actually made my argument stronger. The best player you named on that list doesn't count; you're playing semantics including him. The second-best player, Terrell Davis, is in the HOF because of his rings. He also had a HOF offensive line.
None of the other people you named are better than the RB's drafted in the top 50. Also, aside from the Marshawn Lynch and Bo Jackson example (in the context of having played for the Raiders), my list is current.
Now who's making stuff up?Now our resident "do not question my football "knowledge"" will say none of those guys should have been a first rounder because it will ruin my exact science "I am right" thing.
I never stated any of that.
I'm not. His most successful outside runs were inside zone play-calls. His 37-yard run is the only successful run he's had all year where he followed the play as called. That, and being a liability in the passing game, is why he doesn't split 50/50 carries with Jeanty.Attyla wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 11:39 am Well, you are wrong and you missed the actual point. Davis is in the hall because of his body of work. He was other worldly before the injury. And no, I am no playing semantics. You told us how it is almost a lock that you have to be a first rounder to be set apart. And I included older guys because they competed against teams that were focused on the run. In your argument, You are actually weakening your point because of the devalue of the RB. I included a lot of guys who played during the value age of the position.mranquales wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2026 11:41 am That bad huh? Ok...
