I can see a world where Jeanty takes 2 drives off a game unless Washington and the Raiders face a 3rd down.raidersince63 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 4:23 pm I guess we'll find that out once the season begins...in college he liked to run through people but the defenders he'll have to face in the NFL will be bigger and faster. Don't know how often the Raiders will be using 2 RBs in the backfield but hopefully he'll be a more than able compliment to Jeanty and boost his longevity chances.

Yeah, Jeanty is tough and as we saw last year as he took a lot of punishment. But you know how short the shelf life of RBs can be and Washington can give Jeanty breathers during the game considering that Jeanty will get the lion's share of the carries.KillerRaider30 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 4:26 pm I can see a world where Jeanty takes 2 drives off a game unless Washington and the Raiders face a 3rd down.

In Minnesota he had roughly a 65/35 split with the Cook & Mattison. Seattle last year was about 55/45 split. The only stop he had as an oc where a rb took the majority of carries was in New Orleans where Kamara took a ton of the work. So 2/3 of his stops he had another rb taking a fair amount of carries. We'll see how it shakes out. I'll take anything said from him at this point in time with a huge grain of saltraidersince63 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 4:23 pm I guess we'll find that out once the season begins...in college he liked to run through people but the defenders he'll have to face in the NFL will be bigger and faster. You're talking about Kubiak, right? If so, yeah, I don't think he's the type to tip his hand. I'm not sure if Kubiak's strategy will be guided by his own desired formula or ratio of the number of touches for each back...or if maybe he'll take a "wait and see" stance based on how well Washington performs in camp and exhibition games, assess his RBS, assess the OL, and then calculate and formulate a plan of attack for the start of the regular season.Hellbound wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 5:11 pm In Minnesota he had roughly a 65/35 split with the Cook & Mattison. Hell, there's a ton of decisions to be made, on both sides of the ball. And it looks like there will be a lot of new faces starting on opening day.

just wanted to point out that it was 50/50 in seattle with charbs getting all the goal line work and short yds carries until he got hurt, kubiak favored charbs due to his bigger size and great hands...i think yr 1 washington get 30%raidersince63 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 6:39 pm You're talking about Kubiak, right? There is no preset percentage. Washington will get whatever he earns as the season progresses.

Yes, I know...hellbound had already pointed that out before I made my comment. And that's what I quoted.mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 7:04 am just wanted to point out that it was 50/50 in seattle with charbs getting all the goal line work and short yds carries until he got hurt, kubiak favored charbs due to his bigger size and great hands...i think yr 1 washington get 30%

We assume Kubiak is going to do the same thing he did in Seattle. This is the quickest way for a coach to get fired. You continue to evolve as a coach or you end up being a former coach. The goal is to be unpredictable.RickRyb wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 7:53 am There is no preset percentage. Washington will get whatever he earns as the season progresses.

Exactly. A good coach works with what he has. He doesn't force things because they worked before with a different roster. Of course he has certain a philosophy on things but has to remain flexible. Otherwise you end up with a GrudenAttyla wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 4:49 am We assume Kubiak is going to do the same thing he did in Seattle. This is the quickest way for a coach to get fired. Yep and if he had 3 great equal RB's the best ration is 33/33/33.RickRyb wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 7:53 am There is no preset percentage. Washington will get whatever he earns as the season progresses.
But all the RB's have to show what they can do in his system and production will drive the numbers.
