College Football Thread - 2026
It’s that time of year for us to dog fight about who’s college team is better.
Best way to start it out IMO is with the preseason coaches poll that just dropped:
Preseason Coaches Poll
1.Ohio State
2.Oregon
3.Georgia
4.Texas
5.Notre Dame
6.Indiana
7.Miami
8.Texas A&M
9.Oklahoma
10.Ole Miss
11.Alabama
12.Texas Tech
13.LSU
14.USC
15.BYU
16.Michigan
17.Penn State
18.Tennessee
19.Washington
20.SMU
21.Utah
22.Iowa
23.Clemson
24.Houston
25.Missouri
We all know who are backing after that last few years but the 2026 season is almost upon us.
For my own part, this year is special I’m attending my first home game ever at ND on 9/12.

When a 11 win season puts a starting pitcher into a Cy Young conversation and a .220 batting average can get a guy MVP votes something is f[raiders_icon]cked up. Then you have the advertisements on the uniforms? WTF.
If a team is hovering at .500 after the break they become sellers. I have rooted for the Cubs since I was a kid, Ryne Sandberg was a local lad but we also had WGN bringing Harry Carry and his rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the stretch after he had 10 Budweisers into our living room.
No way my dad would have paid for Marque or whatever they call their idiotic network. It's one big cash cow and they continue to squeeze the fanbase.
Maybe the entire league needs to take Mark Grace's advice and go find a slump buster.
My apologies Willmark, I'll get back on topic.

I wanted to listen to the Dodger game but don't have an am radio so I thought I would go to the station's website and stream it. Nope, it tells me 'I am out of the area to be able to do that." What? I wonder even if am radio does carry games anymore.Reno Hightower wrote: Sun Aug 09, 2026 8:15 pm When a 11 win season puts a starting pitcher into a Cy Young conversation and a .220 batting average can get a guy MVP votes something is f[raiders_icon]cked up. My team the Stanford Cardinal needs to have a better year than they had last year.
They are kinda like the Raiders - It's been a while since they have had a winning season (7 or 8 years ago).

My team is the Buckeyes. (I was born in Dayton) I could cry about the fact they consistently underachieve.Rick In Bakersfield wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2026 2:26 pm My team the Stanford Cardinal needs to have a better year than they had last year.

It really is quite amusing:
Top 25 polls are out and they crow about how many SEC teams are ranked. Never mind they fact they got blown out in the playoffs.
Then at the same time fail to notice how many SEC teams that dude listed. I don't think that list doing quite what they think it is.
