Game Day Thread, Raiders Visit Foxboro

Mild temps and a chance of rain/wind as our Raiders travel east.

Raiders are +3.5 and the over/under is 44.5.

On tap, my vegetable soup and crusty bread. I will enjoy a local brew called Rhinodart and if you can find it I highly recommend it.

With the spread, the oddsmakers have us just a tiny bit worse than the most recent AFC Champions.

Granted, it was garbage time, but I was paying attention to Mendoza's processing and mechanics, which are much improved from preseason. Mendoza identified the coverage and quickly got the ball to the open player. He even checked it down with haste, which is something he had trouble with during preseason.

The play where he moved around the pocket and made something happen with the pass to Benson (which he dropped) was Mahomes-like.

We will see. Cousins has played great all year but his limitations were exposed today. I think it's too early to say Mendoza give this team the best chance to win but his mobility certainly adds a dimension on offense that we have been lacking.

Glad Mendoza got some reps. I understand some not wanting him in with this oline, but it's not like he's a fragile cupcake. Kirk has been good, but I think Mendoza opens up more stuff for us. Curious when that will be permanent. Might be sooner than most of us thought.

Kirk has played well…but there has been several plays(big or not) that Fernando may have just taken off and got good yardage.

Brutal blowout loss, I didnt expect the team to play so terrible today. All 3 phases were bad. The defense couldnt get off the field or stop the run, the special teams made at least 1 bonehead play, and the offense lacks any kind of run game, plus Jeanty looks slow, weak, and has butter fingers now. Why didnt Mike Washington get more play time?

Oof…bad day at the office! Good that Mendoza got some reps but for those calling him to come in more “permanently”; surely today was a defense issue than an offense one?

One of the plays I felt exposed Cousins limitations was that 3rd down play where he over threw Tucker streaking wide to the end zone. He had his guy beat by five feet and would have scored easily tying the score. Instead Kirko threw it out of bounds with defenders in his face trying to avoid a pic im sure. I just feel Mendoza may have had a better chance to lead Tucker in that moment.

Also, the running game is having issues. Jeanty not 100% and what was with Washington not seeing more duty today. I feel like Jeanty, except for the first game, looked better in flashes last year even with a worse interior Oline.

I agree to a point, but we didn't lose today because Cousins isn't mobile.

We aren't facing 8 man boxes because of Kirk vs Fernando. We face the most 8 man boxes because we run 12 and 13 personnel more than any team in the NFL.

Rarely did i see a WR outside the numbers.
Almost all condensed sets running 12 and 13.

Not like we have a X wr but we knew coming in this wouldn't be fixed this year.
