Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Is the Raiders projected cap of 100m, include Wilkins as a cap hit or, is that number without him as a hit?chucker wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:01 am Cutting Geno at the earliest chance we can saves us $8 million this year and designating him June 1 wouldn't save more than that.
I looked at the Wilkins thing a while ago and can't remember what the details were. I think the team could lose about $20 million in cap this year if they lose the appeal. It's probably not worth worrying about at the moment because the team can easily deal with that kind of cap hit if it happens because there's plenty of cap flexibility in other contracts to restructure and find some cap space.

It includes part of it. If we lose we get more of one of we win we get some more space.MexicanHulk wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 7:41 am Is the Raiders projected cap of 100m, include Wilkins as a cap hit or, is that number without him as a hit?

I might roll it back with Carlson..depending if there isn’t too many on the market..fair/decent ones are hard to find it
That 60 yarder may have fixed him????

You can't plug every hole in a single off-season, but you can target one thing and guarantee a significant jump in improvement. That's why I'm still of the mind you give out two big deals for OL that block for Mendoza/Jeanty, and then find solid vet stop gaps on defense. We can and should fix our run game this off-season. Having a functioning run game to play action off of will do wonders for Mendoza's development.
Everything else is kind of gravy because I hold no illusion that we'll have a Patriots like turn around in a single off-season.

Yes he has but he was drafted as a left tackle. Carolina moved him all over the line. It’s just my opinion that he’d make a good RT. Reports I’ve read on him is he can move well and is strong for 6’6 300 pounds.

I’d like to see us sign….
OL Brady Christensen - super versatile
DT Tim Settle Jr - nose tackle and has pass rushing
LB Nakobe Dean - could be a star LB but does have injuries
FS Reid Blankenship - good stop gap at FS, move Pola-Mao to back up

Just my opinion but we are going to need run blockers. Mendoza is at his best when the run game is strong. Jeanty will also benefit from that move.

Tevan Jenkins could be a shout for left guardAttyla wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:21 am Just my opinion but we are going to need run blockers. Mendoza is at his best when the run game is strong. Jeanty will also benefit from that move.
Played well in Cleveland & is a good run blocker
Issac Seumalo could be an option although he is 32 his run blocking was pretty decent this year
If Linderbaum doesnt hit FA then Cade Mays could be an option thought he looked good for the Panthers this year

Should we find a blocking fullback for Mendoza? Not a popular position anymore but the kid needs to be protected while the line is being fixed. Jeanty scares me when he's blocking.

I like Mays as an option. 32 years old linemen often play well. Those positions tend to sustain well into their 30sCWood24 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 10:39 am Tevan Jenkins could be a shout for left guard

Yeah, I don’t know why Raiders didn’t get him back in the trade they made with the Bears. Was it the Leatherwood trade or another trade in a later year. Or a target this past offseason. Would have easily took him over Cappa. & half the price.CWood24 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 10:39 am Tevan Jenkins could be a shout for left guard

A couple others I think are FA’s this offseason. Leo Chenal would be a great pickup. Not exactly a coverage LB but, he does his assignments well &, pretty competent when dropped into coverage. LB’s Willie Gay would be another.
Two or all three of LB’ers N.Dean, L.Chenal, W.Gay would be great. Pretty sure you wouldn’t have to break the bank any of these either. Should be good “bargain” deals. They’d help the front 7 dramatically.
If you could add two good DL to Crosby, that would really change the outlook of the defense.

Fairly confident Miller and JPJ are cemented along the line. If Grant or some other lineman is considered to be a go then that leaves two positions?Attyla wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:21 am Just my opinion but we are going to need run blockers. Are any of the Good D players we let walk last year free agents, because PC thought he had a plan available because I for one would like to have Spillane, Chassion, Moerhig & Diablo back because they are light years better than what that moron replaced them with..hopefully Spytek didn't make those moves or we are f[raiders_icon]cked going forward...I'm very suspect on him because of Cappa!!! And yet he felt the need to give koonce 12 mil coming off a acl???
