Carroll was plan B. The 2025 Raiders are operating with a head coach that was plan B and a starting QB that was plan B. They didn't get the guys they wanted and now we know why they wanted Johnson and Stafford first because they would probably be a in a better place but it is what it is. The hope is Carroll can at least get the team pointing in the right direction in the 2nd half of the season so they have something to build off for the 2026 season.charlieinblack wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:21 pm was pete bradys pick or did we hire that guy thats picked quality headcoaches elsewhere?
another absolute waste of a season for the staff, players and fans.
Brady couldn't seal the deal.heavyD wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:30 pm Carroll was plan B. The 2025 Raiders are operating with a head coach that was plan B and a starting QB that was plan B. No need to educate myself. I had direct access to Jim and the AD office while he was at Michigan. Anything else you want educated on involving Jim while he was at Michigan? The Real CK wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:12 pm Educate yourself.

Can you blame Johnson for taking the Bears over the Raiders? It was the smart decision and the fact that Johnson even considered the Raiders goes to show how strong Brady's influence is as the Raiders job was a bad one as Carroll is finding out.
What is your position there? Prove it. Back up your claim like I did.Hellbound wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:31 pm No need to educate myself. I had direct access to Jim and the AD office while he was at Michigan. Anything else you want educated on involving Jim while he was at Michigan?

Lol....you referenced an opinion piece. You didn't back shit upThe Real CK wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:33 pm What is your position there? Prove it. Back up your claim like I did.
You dodged my question. So by Occam's Razor, your claimed direct access to Jim was a fabrication.Hellbound wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:35 pm Lol....you referenced an opinion piece. You didn't back shit up
There's no way you can keep this going for 3 years. Absolutely no way, it's not just his coaching, but he has no idea what he's doing with talent evaluation at this point, he doesn't know who to play.Opoponax50 wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 5:49 pm We need to keep him for the full contract. Hopefully he can build a good core by then. If does, then it gives us a shot to hire the next hotshot HC.

Cleaning out the waste baskets doesn't count.
With a 74 YO coach our timeline is now much different than any other team.heavyD wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:30 pm Carroll was plan B. Most of the successful teams pivoted to young, innovative head coaches and first round QBs. We did the exact opposite.Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:41 pm With a 74 YO coach our timeline is now much different than any other team.
As if we didn't have enough to deal with?
1. As you note we need to get the franchise pointing in the right direction. No small task.
2. Consider succession planning for the next coach, would be great if our OC could take over like other teams. Our OC is 66...
3. Draft a franchise QB. Not saying you here but folks anyone clamoring for a QB like Sellers or some other project QB? We don't have that time nor does our HC. We need a QB who can step in and start day 1.
4. Deal with Davis as an owner.
Add to all this? We can't really fire him and then start the cycle all over again, but I fully expect that is what we will do.
