We’ll see if it works. Our last coach was never a coordinator and needed mentors to guide him, this new coach has 200 years of experience but might not live til the end of his contract.

Why can’t we just do normal shit like the other teams?
You're a Raider fan (and a damn good one at that!). For better or worse, we don't do "normal." And you signed up for this when you became a Raider fan.
You're not happy with any move this team makes.
Maybe he's here to stabilize the franchise for a few years while bringing back respectability and handing it off to his successor in a much better place, and then be in a position to compete for a Super Bowl. I think this front office knows it's not a qb away from contending. It's going to be a weird feeling having a front office that's competent and has a plane and vision
Maybe
Or maybe you haven't been paying attention for the past 40 years.
But like always ill buy in eventually. Just need time to get over the stupid Davis is before I do shooters of the Kool-aid.
But again yes maybe
Maybe is what we say every other year when the new regime is brought in and every other year its another devastating season. No?
The only thing they don't do is leave it alone. This guy is like 200 years old so they'll be change (again) very soon.

But for now, let's Live it Up

To anyone crying about not getting Johnson or Coen, you have the option to leave the Raiders and be a Bears or Jaguars fan if you love Johnson or Coen that much

Be a fan since the 70's, cannot remember a time the Raiders hired a HC with a record or resume that equals Pete's.

This maybe the most normal shit the Raiders have done in the history of the organization.
Exactly. We made our play for the top guy and he didn't pick us. Plan B is the most qualified guy available bar none. I'm fine with that. Sometimes things don't go as planned by no fault of your own. But moving forward and making the right decision is key. Rather than doubling down and forcing a mistake like Coen is what we would have done in the past. There's a reason Brady never even brought him in for an interview
After the shit Coen pulled with TB, hard pass. Word has it, he used the sick kid excuse to sneak off and interview with the Jags.

I'm okay with this. I don't love it, but I certainly don't hate it. You don't have to squint to see why he might be a good hire for this franchise at this particular time.

When we fired Telesco, I, like others, assumed we wanted a HC/GM pairing, but by hiring Spytek and Carrol, that's clearly not the case. It's clear that Tom Brady is basically the president of football operations here, and he hired both the GM and the HC.

In Tom we trust. In Tom we have to trust. It's certainly better than trusting in the turnip.
I think Joe Brady would have been a decent option too. But again, he’s used up to having a guy like Allen and we have no QB
Might as well put in Kingsbury to. But more of the same, no QB.
One thing I love about this hire....

If we are on the 1 yard line with a chance to win the Super Bowl, Pete will absolutely override any dumb decision to pass that could be in the OC's mind....

Right?

......
Guys?
If he has us on the one yard line with a chance to win the super bowl I'd call his hiring a huge win no matter what he does!

What Raiders coach is better than Carroll? Madden, Flores.... no one else.
With the absolute cycle of trash we have had at the HC spot, Im a little suprised everyone here isnt at least a little excited.
Pete is the best coach, without question the Raiders have had in 40 years and its not close.

Good hire, hope he can return the team to respectability. Let the off season and free agency begin.
