Bet the new contract is $160m over 4 years, with $80m guaranteed.
I'm off the feel good train. This just reeks of typical Raiders. Yeah...... I've had a few pours of bourbon, but this just isn't what I thought this group of 3 was going to do. I'm on the prove it train now..... and all of them are fair game.
Same here...what confidence I initially in our new regime had in this franchise moving forward has taken a big hit.
Smith will be 35 years old before the season ends. WTF are we doing? And considering how our signings have gone thus far, why should we have any confidence in the upcoming draft?
Unless they somehow completely blow me away and pull me back in come draft time...I may be watching girls flag football instead.
But for now, it looks like the same Raiders we've been seeing for years.

SEA will get Darnold for less than what we pay Geno, and draft a mauler IOL with our 3rd td pick

Mahomes is being paid $45M per year. I don’t want to see the Raiders pay Geno that kind of money, and I don’t think that’s an unfair statement.

in an ideal world, it wouldn't have to come to this, but we don't live in an ideal world
geno is better than aoc and minshew put together, as long as he stays upright the team has a decent chance of making some progress toward being respectable again.
i'd rather this than throwing 2026 first round picks away to reach for a qb this year.
get a rookie qb in the 2nd or 3rd and let's let 'er rip
and yes, geno is going to get his 40. such is the state of the game with the ballooning salary cap and position inflation. pete ain't going to be around forever, 3 year plan
do i love it? no. do i have a % ownership of the team to influence the outcome? not even 1/2 of 1%. suspect that no one else here does either... so enjoy the show and try not to shit on your fellow posters for having different opinions as we enjoy what is at its essence a game
They seem to be ecstatic about the trade on the Seahawks forum. I think its an ok trade, its someone who Carroll is familiar with at least.
Who cares if Pete is familiar with him? He's a mediocre QB, at best. If we aren't paying him shit.... okay. If we are paying him way too much.... f[raiders_icon]ck that. IMO.... we already paid too much with a 3rd.

OK, look Geno was 10-7, 9-8, and 9-8 the past 3 seasons with the 9ers, rams, in their div. He averaged 4k yards a year, he throws 25 TD's a year, he rushes for 250 and a TD every year, he has an average 97 rating over 5 years with the Hawks, he has only missed 2 games in the past 3 seasons.
Sure we aren't getting a future HOF'er here, but people are greatly exaggerating how bad he is. He is head and shoulders better than anything we have had in a long time.
I think he is a good guy to sign for 3 years, draft a guy like Dart and let them compete back and forth, when Dart is ready Geno can be a great backup.
One thing about Pete, he doesn't care who you are, the best players will be on the field.
They could have signed several UFA QB's for free that are better than Minshew and AOC. Raiders still have the worst starting QB in the division.
That was always going to be a fact unless they traded for a super star. A draft pick wasn't going to change that either

& hes supposed to get a new contract! Are you shitting me!!
I’d still be mad if they traded only a 6/7th rounder for him. But giving a 3rd?!!! That makes me livid! Then on top of that, a new contract, wtf!
I had so much optimism with Spytek being GM &, hoping that he was gonna make consistently good, smart, shrewd moves. Gain draft capital, make great draft picks, not overrate bad players or avg at best players. This really busts my sails on that. Hopefully he can do that the rest of the way but, now I’m not confident in it.
