See, I am not convinced. I can easily see a scenario where Brady is merely using Davis as a means to an end. He has no children to leave the business to, and he is old and in bad shape, eats like crap. I can see Brady just minding his time. Spytek? The guy is following Brady, not Davis. And Carroll? He knows his window and he knows with Davis out of the picture he has a better chance of actually pulling off the incredible. I think this all came to be because Brady leveraged the art of the deal to get his hands on the franchise.
That may all be true but if Davis was awful to work with i don't thino brady spends 10-20 years working with him (Davis has money so he is still likely to live a while).
Doofus is actually liked by others, and people like working with him it seems. Hes just grossly incompetent in football matters so tue current structure is now ideal with him cut out of that aspect.
For sure, but it took Dufus to do it, so credit. Brady didn't simply take ownership, not that you suggest that.
*I'm only calling him Dufus to keep precedence in this thread, I think Mark's fairly good.

This feels for the first time he may have got things right, largely because his influence was minimized in the hiring process with his minority owners having some influence on the hires.

It's hard to breakthrough once near the bottom. Yeah far from perfect, but to me he gives space but then he acts when he has to. It's been reasonable to me. For example he didn't step in a do what the Browns did with Watson, that's a major screw up from ownership.

He gave them too much power IMO and it backfired. It's not like guys are lining up to come to the Raiders. He got himself a license to print money in Vegas in a shiny new stadium that will be sold out forever. From a business point of view he couldn't have done better. People need a scapegoat I'm sure he doesn't mind rolling around in his money like Scrooge McDuck with a few models. While some guys are sitting at work calling him a Turnip. He isn't perfect for sure but I like seeing an everyday type guy living his best life

Nice guy (Davis), so it seems. Also, a f[raiders_icon]cking idiot. Dude didn’t “land” Brady. He opened the door. Brady wanted to be a minority owner in the Dolphins and the Buccaneers previously. Those doors weren’t open.
The delay to allow Brady minority ownership wasn’t at first due to him signing a contract to become a broadcaster. It was due to the owners concern that Brady was receiving too discounted a price. They worried it would reflect on their own franchises value.
If you drive away from a car dealership having purchased the car at half the price, did the dealer “land” you?
Every good thing we have seen recently with this franchise is because of Brady. The last time we made decent hires, (Del Rio/Reggie regime) had a lot more to do with Madden than it did with Davis.
Relocating? Thank you Jerry Jones.
Also, agree with you Attlya. If you go and read the history of how Big Al became majority owner of the Raiders, you’ll find it wasn’t a clean amicable deal. It was a smidge nefarious, and could easily come with some karmic repercussions. If Brady ends up finding a way to take over the Raiders before or after Davis heads to that great Hooters in the sky. It wouldn’t surprise or upset me. One good turn deserves another.

I don’t think Davis would get so much shit if he didn’t look like such a dipshit. I do think he’s incompetent when it comes to Football decisions but at least he loves the Raiders and doesn’t mind spending.

As evidenced with how many on the forum work so hard to award him for participation.

If you weren’t being sarcastic, what other exceedingly simple tasks should we be commending him for? Maybe we could have a parade every time he makes a poopie and wipes all by himself.
I don’t hate the dude, but he is a HUGE reason this franchise has been such a shitshow for 22 out of the last 24 years.
“BUt tHE bRowNs ArE WOrSe!!!” For f[raiders_icon]ck sake, what kind of loser mentality do you need to have to find solace in being the 2nd worse franchise in the NFL?!? Smh
Thank the Heavens it looks like Davis has FINALLY figured out how best to help the team. By getting the f[raiders_icon]ck out of the way. The “look, but don’t touch” method to being an NFL owner.
Thank you Mark, here’s a lollipop.

It really is amazing how many people give him a pass because he is likeable. He has run this team far worse than any franchise in the NFL in the last decade and it is not even close. And yes, that includes the Browns, at least they have won a playoff game.

He's shown both a long and a short lease and in all cases again reasonable. It's not been chaotic, just not winning. To me there is a major difference. Good ideas fail all the time, but I can respect a good idea. Each of us as grown adults should have plenty of experience knowing this personally.
And it's sort of funny but also legit... he's won 'ship with the Aces. So in his ownership world it is possible to win. It has been proven.
And... yes Mark I'm open for a business opportunity if you would like to reach out to me!
