It's because it hasn't been insane in terms of discussion making with GM/HC/FO hires. It just hasn't led to wins. He's shown both a long and a short lease and in all cases again reasonable. It's not been chaotic, just not winning. To me there is a major difference. Good ideas fail all the time, but I can respect a good idea. Each of us as grown adults should have plenty of experience knowing this personally.
And it's sort of funny but also legit... he's won 'ship with the Aces. So in his ownership world it is possible to win. It has been proven.
And... yes Mark I'm open for a business opportunity if you would like to reach out to me!
Basketball is vastly different than football. It is a far simpler game and that is not even close. Football is a results oriented business. He has gone through coaches like his father before him. He has gone through front office personnel in much the same way. He has meddled in football ops. He has given his head coach decision making power over his GM. And he has lost. That last one is key. I became a fan because we won. I am now a fan of a season over season loser. We have not even taken the division once under his leadership. Nice guy? Sure. Loser? Yep.
It really is amazing how many people give him a pass because he is likeable. He has run this team far worse than any franchise in the NFL in the last decade and it is not even close. And yes, that includes the Browns, at least they have won a playoff game.
The Jets and Bears would like a word.

What Mark has shown with coaches is he will both give them time if warranted even without great results based on fair factors, but if disastrous he'll move quickly. That's again reasonable. The ole man was super quick on making a HC change and it got worse with age.
I look at sports like this, everything you want to do there is an equal force trying to stop you. That's different for most of us in our jobs. It would be like you trying to type a response here but there was another person that could f[raiders_icon]ck with your keyboard as you type. Shits tough. So I go with are decisions sensible? Somewhat like the path to hell is paved with good intentions.... It matters to me vs chaotic stupid has no chance. While results have been poor, I don't feel it's impossible for him to have success in the NFL because he's a complete idiot.
If there are people that feel he's so bad you can't win with him then there is no room for optimism and you should be grading low on the Optimism thread, because he's still here. Brady/Spytek/Carrol are under Marks umbrella.

And I did not credit Goofy for getting Brady, I credit Brady for getting part of the team. It's not like I hate him, I just don't respect him. And he has yet to show patience when it comes to his coaches. Other than Gruden, who we should never have given that contract to. But we don't know what the outcome would have been if he had not self destructed. And no, he will likely have some success with the new group, but again, the credit will fall to Brady way more than Mark.

To me it's still credit to Mark.

There is almost no evidence that Davis' influence on the team has ever resulted in a positive. Goofy guy, likeable.....but a loser. Brady, not as likeable....but a winner. Why would you want to tip your cap to a loser? And let me be clear, it goes back a long time. He was relegated by his father to a small role in the organization because he is a loser. He spent his time in strip clubs and doing coke because he is a loser. His own father did nothing to prepare him for team ownership even though he knew he was dying because he is a loser. A likeable loser but still a loser. I know you will site the Aces to refute that but even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

I tip my cap to a guy willing to cede decision-making when it's not working as it is. Based on reading these forums, I think there are a lot of guys who would just keep making bad decisions and would rationalize why they were actually good decisions that didn't work out because of uncontrollable factors. Most people aren't as smart as they think they are.

Oh sure credit will go to everyone, but the guy at the top gets credit for everything underneath them as well. Each person gets to measure how much credit. How much do you give Kraft for N.E. success?

Brady gets drafted, introduces himself to an owner who has no idea who he is. Brady sits while Bledsoe does his Bledsoeing, gets injured and Brady puts the team on his back and does his Bradying. He moves onto the Bucs and does it again. But what has the great Belichick done since, what has Kraft's teams done? There are winners and there are losers. Montana, he was a winner and he proved after he left the 9ers. Davis will get his moment of victory if the new guy in charge can replicate. But ask yourself this, who is Carroll calling all the time. Dufus or Brady? Carroll has already answered that question. Who was a major reason he went to the Raiders? Dufus or Brady? Carroll has already answered this as well. You want to sidecar up with Dufus, be my guest. I will hang with the winner.
