C'mon man, we're talking about a Super Bowl win here. Most of you guys would trade my life for a preseason win, and I wouldn't take that personal at all. At least not if it was because the starters won the game. I suppose I'd be a little offended if it was for one of those come from by the camp fodder types of preseason wins.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty skeptical that I'll get to see another SB win by this franchise. Best I can hope for is that I develop Alzheimer's severe enough so that my mind is living in the era of the Madden led Raiders.
well, sure, if it was you. But I think the minimum standard is a regular season division game. But with you, I think it is a camp scrimmage!

And by that, I'm not passing judgement on your choices, I'm just saying don't come crying to me because my family will probably sell my organs and whomever they may be residing in won't want to hear your problems.

Raiders DC Patrick Graham said he’s been able to “bounce ideas off” HC Pete Carroll this offseason and feels it’s been beneficial to his growth as a coordinator.

“Just in terms of being able to bounce ideas off of him, hear different ways of doing things – it’s been real beneficial for my growth if I’m being selfish, which is something really good and positive for me,” Graham said, via Levi Edwards of the team’s site. “With the track record, I mean why wouldn’t you listen? You gotta listen. It’s been great.”

Graham said they are having fun in practice under Carroll and everyone is “forming a bond.”

“Each season is so different,” Graham said. “Every season it’s 32 teams that have great optimism about the season. So, the thing I can say about the ’25 Raiders, we’re having fun out there, we’re learning how to practice at a high level in the vision of how Pete wants it. So again, there’s no certain feeling or anything, because the seasons are always different. But I just know that this group of men right here, they’re forming a bond. They’re understanding how it’s based on relationships here. And the biggest thing that we have to focus on right now, it’s not real, true football, but we’ve got to play with great effort. Great effort, communication, get our fundamentals down.”

Raiders’ new LB Elandon Roberts said he has a close relationship with Graham and can always reach out to him for advice.

“[J]ust knowing how PG came about and his pedigree and his philosophy behind the game, I just know like, it’s never moment I can’t text him or pull up on him or just ask him, ‘Man, let’s talk ball,’ because I know, man,” Roberts said. “I’m telling you, PG is the type of guy he wakes up in the morning, he thinks about football.”

The Raiders’ players have already bought into Pete Carroll’s get down. The legendary head coach assembled a coaching staff composed of holdovers from the previous regime, coaches he’d worked with in the past and a batch of newcomers, and they’ve collectively ingratiated themselves with the roster. They’re serious and know what they’re talking about, but they’ve created a loose, fun and positive environment at team headquarters.

Carroll’s “compete” mantra is a bit cliché, but it’s come to fruition for the Raiders as there’s several battles for starting roles on both sides of the ball. The process of instilling his culture is still ongoing, of course, but Carroll made significant progress in OTAs. For a franchise on its fourth head coach since moving to Las Vegas in 2020, that process being successful is instrumental to putting an end to the constant turnover

Raiders HC Pete Carroll highly praised first-round RB Ashton Jeanty, saying the running back is embracing the challenge of being their feature back.

“He caught the ball well, understood stuff, took everything seriously [and] gave terrific effort throughout,” Carroll said, via Ryan McFadden of ESPN. “We made a big deal of him — ‘Everybody’s watching you’ — and he embraced the thought of it. And so, it’s going to be exciting to see what happens.”

Raiders veteran RB Raheem Mostert has been impressed by Jeanty’s ability to break big plays.

“The biggest thing that impressed me the most was that he was able to break and take it another 60 yards,” Mostert said. “That’s something that’s not necessarily going on out there in the world right now.”

Carroll is getting Jeanty and other rookies like WR Dont’e Thornton Jr. and CB Darien Porter a lot of reps in their offseason program. The coach explained its an approach he’s always taken with rookies.

“This is what I’ve done with rookies for a long time,” Carroll said. “It just depends on how well you orchestrate what you ask them to do. And if they can find success, that helps our depth and helps us stay competitive.”

Raiders legend used a special situation all too familiar with fans to describe the bond between Geno Smith and Pete Carroll

IMO... Pete is the best thing that has happened to this historic franchise in a long time.
He brings a lot... Let's see if it translates into wins.
Love the hire myself.

Raiders

Raiders HC Pete Carroll is entering his first season with Las Vegas following his time with the Seahawks. He’s going into 2025 with “really high” expectations.

“We’re going to win a ton. We’re going to win a bunch of games,” Carroll said, via the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I can’t even imagine anything [else]. I’ve been winning 10 games a year for 20 years or something, you know? What are my expectations? We’re going to win a bunch. And I don’t care who hears that — it doesn’t matter to me. It ain’t about what anybody hears, it’s about what we do. And so, that’s why expectations are really high. The standards need to be so that the expectations can be met. We’ll see what happens. I wish I could guarantee it to you, but I can’t even think of what else it could be but being really successful.”

Carroll added he’s always put high expectations on players.

“There is no limit. We’re going for it. We’re going to see how far we can take our club. We’re going to do it one step at a time. We’re just going to see how good we can be,” Carroll said. “The expectations and the standards we are setting are going to be as high as we can make them. That’s how we’ve always done that. So, we’re going to take it as far as we can as quickly as we can, see what that means.”
