I have no problem kicking the tires but to instantly assume a guy who looked like shit last year is an upgrade? We are going to play the guys who produce. We got a first rounder for him and I am not even sure if he has guaranteed money on the deal this time, will need to look that up at some point, so all he is costing us is cap this time, which is fine and we can dump his ass if he does not produce.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 10:40 am The unfortunate truth with Amari is that he can drop balls and be more productive than most guys. Maybe he ends up being the washed vet we saw in Buffalo last year. But the year before his production dwarfs any WR on the roster. I'm not expecting 1200 yards but I think he will be a valuable contributor. I was glad we moved on when we did, but this time around he's not costing us a top pick. He's cheap and might overproduce.
So there you go, lets see what "juice" he has left. But let's see it on the field before we fit him for the jacket.

I don't think the number is $30 mill. Dollars to nuts he's trying to get Courtland Sutton's contract. I don't think either player is worth the moneypfish57 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 10:50 amSomeone throws out this fictitious number of $30 Mil per year an it's stuck like shit on a shoe ever since lol No one has a clue what he wants, but I Highly doubt it was $30 Mil smh

He definitely won't be fitted for a jacket. The bar is low when it comes to upgrading what we had.Attyla wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 10:52 am I have no problem kicking the tires but to instantly assume a guy who looked like shit last year is an upgrade? Ok but I feel better with Amari on board. He has the 2nd most 1000 yard seasons over the past 10 years only behind Mike Evens who 10. Coop has 7Attyla wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 10:36 am Thornton caught his touchdown pass. Cooper dropped three straight in the end zone two of which hit him directly in his hands, and the third bounced off his shoulder pads when he was watching it the whole time and did not bother to raise his hands. I know, I was there. And Thornton did not admit he half assed it his first time with the Raiders.
Yea, let's see what the rookie has over the guy who thinks he still has "some" juice left. Some, his word not mine.

Exactly. Someone throws a number out and it's a fact. We don't know what was said in meetings. Maybe the Raiders offered nothing and he said he would rather leave now if they don't want him.pfish57 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 10:50 am Someone throws out this fictitious number of $30 Mil per year an it's stuck like shit on a shoe ever since lol No one has a clue what he wants, but I Highly doubt it was $30 Mil smh
People act like he kicked in the door and demanded 30 million or else without knowing anything

If SB's were won on soundbites....... this team would be undefeated every year.
Sadly, the Raiders mouths are writing checks their ass can't cash....

This is his last chance to secure the massive contract.
He is one wrong turn away from playing on one year deals.
The man cannot be blamed for wanting to maximize his value.

I'm not sure where all of the scepticism is coming from. When the Raiders make the Super Bowl this year, I will argue, successful I might add, that not only is Amari the MVP, I will make the case there has NEVER been a more valuable player.

I imagine he would because the ante goes up. If he were to hold out, wouldnt he have already done it.DrDUne wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 7:48 am I give Meyers credit for continuing to practice during this time - would he suit up and play week 1 without a new contract?
