Sellers does need to grow in his passing. And I say this as a die hard gamecock. But he's nothing like Richardson. As far as him taking what they give him and either getting down or out of bounds goes. Sellers said after the game that if there's one guy he's trying to avoid or run through him. And if it's more than one he's going to go down or get out of bounds. He's progressed every year. (He's a redshirt sophomore). And progressed a lot as a passer. I do believe he's going to go extremely high and not just because of his athleticism. But because of his passing. But he still has some work to do. And based off his growth so far I believe he will put in the work on those tooGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 2:09 am Yeah dude, I went and made sure I wasn’t missing something that made the two of them more similar than I realized. I mean, sure, they’re both black men. They both are mobile and can run. They both have powerful arms. After that though, it kind of ends for me.
Sellers seem far more willing to stay on platform and use the pocket until it simply collapses on him. You can see him go through his progressions. Even when he begins to scramble, more often than not, he seems to be buying time for a receiver to get open.
As I said before, they both have great arms, but Sellers seems to have much better placement. He also seems to be able to change up the pitch so-to-speak. Where Richardson has a fastball regardless of receiver depth. Completion % for AR is 54.7 and Sellers 65.8. That’s higher than Nussmeier, Klubnik, Manning, Leavitt, Allar, and even Drew Brees’ college days.
Another thing I noticed is how they both can run, but AR puts himself in danger nearly every time. Takes big hits. Which we know he hasn’t fixed yet. Sellers looks smart enough to take what’s there, when it’s there, and gets down or goes out of bounds when it’s not. Just my opinion, but AR looks like an RB/WR who can throw and Sellers a QB who can run.
And mercy they definitely had different Olines blocking for them. Florida made and held pockets much longer than SC seems to be able to.
It’s good to make sure I wasn’t way off-base. At least with my personal opinion. By the end of the college season, I expect that Sellers will rise too far for the Raiders to have a chance without a trade up anyway.
I’ll leave their Freshmen year highlights in case anyone’s interested…

I don't think Sellers will leave college to enter the NFL draft early so he has a couple more years to develop, he passed up an 8.5 million offer to enter the transfer portal to stay at SC , he has a bunch of NIL deals now so money wont be a factor.

USC has started its annual three game dominance of tomato cans before collapsing into a shit-heap.

I like Sellers but then again I liked Richardson so my take could be way off. Sellers throws with a lot more finesse than Richardson. Sometimes too much though as a few of his throws float which will get picked off in the NFL. Love his scrambling as he doesn't seem to take big hits. He would do great to sit behind Geno for a year or two.
No way we're even in a chance to get him though without giving away a bunch of picks.

Yep.srv5490 wrote: Sun Aug 31, 2025 10:12 pm As a UCLA alum, I get you 100%. On the other hand, with teams changing conferences and rosters changing every year with NIL money, it's hard to give a fck about any particular team or conference. I still enjoy watching the best teams play, I just don't really care who they are anymore.

His draft stock will have the biggest say. If he is a top three pick I think he will leave. Top three pick is going to make around 12+ million a year. You want to get that clock ticking on the first extension and if he ends up getting sacked forty times this year he may think discretion is the better part of valor.rcraider wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 7:23 am I don't think Sellers will leave college to enter the NFL draft early so he has a couple more years to develop, he passed up an 8.5 million offer to enter the transfer portal to stay at SC , he has a bunch of NIL deals now so money wont be a factor.

Is anyone surprised UNC lost so bad? BB brought in 70 new players and the cupboard wasn't left exactly stocked. It is going to take a while for BB to install what he wants done and create the culture he wants to have.
Can he do it? IDK.
Is it fun to read all the BB blasts? Yes
But honestly, I never expected this game to go any other way.

Maybe so. But I'm also beginning to think the entire winning culture the Patriot way if you will. Should have been named the Brady wayhaji81872 wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 11:06 am Is anyone surprised UNC lost so bad? BB brought in 70 new players and the cupboard wasn't left exactly stocked. Brady definitely was a huge part. I’m not sure BBs style of coaching will fly for long in college. Especially if they don’t see results.vtraider wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 12:31 pm Maybe so. This
is probably all you need to know about what has happened at UNC. The optics of this are infuriating for the UNC parents of players, fans and student body. Where was the AD while this was happening? Signing BC's paycheck(?), I guess. Sure the cupboard was bare when BC arrived but, but, but, this looked like a high school team at times. It was very, very bad. And I have no pity for the coach who knew the cupboard was bare and didn't/couldn't do enough to bring a competitive team to the field on a featured Monday night game. Shame, shame, shame.

The stuff with his girlfriend means nothing to me other than she is nice to look at. All the stuff about her is blown way out of proportion.

It might be nothing, it might be something. But the optics, what people perceive, is a coach who did not have his entire attention focused on getting his team ready for the season. Add to that, he let his GF interfere in football matters with people other than himself. Until fans saw the players competing against an opponent, the perception was the GF didn't matter. After seeing the product on the field, maybe the GF did matter. True or not, perception is reality to the beholder.haji81872 wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 7:26 pm He brought in 70 players. Of the 70 new players, 40 of them were transfers, so he did get players with experience. Experienced or not, none of them were ready for their first game of the season. It looked like they practiced very hard for an opening sequence--that went well--but nothing was effective after that. BB has a ton of work ahead. Time will tell if he can coach them well enough to at least look like a team that prepared for the game, win or lose.
