What’s Cookin' on Gameday 2025

Post by Willmark »

In the vein of what's cooking with Scotman and Attyla.

As in years past, the 2025 What’s Cookin for Gameday thread. Post each week what you’re having on Gameday, drinks, appetizers etc,

Last year’s turned up some good stuff, so keep these in mind:

* Each week post what you are having for food, aka main dish.
* Appetizers?
* Desert?
* Each week what are you drinking?
* Include what you're having if you're tailgating.
* If you are ordering, what are you ordering?
* Brunch, you name it.

It's breakfast time here in California. Just had two eggs, yolks broken/over easy. Piece of toast, a seeded sourdough from a local bakery with homemade strawberry jam. Dinner will come about 6 hours after the Raiders victory and will be BBQ'ed (Weber with mesquite charcoal) flat iron steak (also known as top blade), summer squash, a little pasta with homemade tomato sauce. Zinfindel from Sierra Foothills.

Easy to make and very good.

Snacks: chips and guacamole, pretzel bites with queso

Desert: Mrs Willmark's monster cookies: peanut butter, oatmeal, M&Ms, Reece Pieces, Peanut Butter M&Ms and chocolate chips.

Drinks: Some Glen Levit (to numb the pain early), wine for Ms and Mrs Willmark. Willmark Jr is drinking soda.

I tried Attyla's breakfast casserole recipe, very good. It was a big hit with the family. My daughter had three helpings.

Thank you for sharing!

Not televised this week so if I want to see the game, there is a pizza and pub nearby that has Sunday ticket and shows Raider games or another bar nearby that does the same that has pretty good burgers. Or maybe I’ll just go golfing

Just last week I had a “golf course burger dog” for the first time. Interesting

4:00 game on the east coast. Some stuffed breads. Sausage, broccoli rabe and provolone. Pepperoni, prosciutto and pepper jack. Long hot peppers stuffed with parmigiana cheese and wrapped in prosciutto.

I do not get "burger dogs"

If I want a burger, I will get a burger. The bun is ideal for piling on the layers of goodness like bacon and such

If I want a dog, I will get a dog. The concept of a casing wrapped around the meat giving it a bit of a snap and its simplicity is its own reward. Diced onion, chili or whatever floats your boat just make it work.

But a burger dog? Seems you get the worst possible outcome to me.

Got some Michelob Ultra yesterday, since it is now the most popular beer in the US. Had a couple yesterday after doing the lawn and getting stung by three yellowjackets. f[raiders_icon]ckers put up a nest under my side table next to my porch bench and I did not see it. Needless to say, they are all dead now, I am deadly accurate with that stuff you can shoot from 15 feet away. Nest is gone now, and I enjoyed the beers. RIP to the bugs, but they had it coming.

Oh and the beer is OK, not great but let's be honest, they are cheap for a reason and they got the job done, a bit of a pleasant buzz.
