We haven't seen the best of Geno. We'll see how we feel about that salary if the good Geno shows up. QBs are falling like flies right now. Purdy, Lamar, Joey. Four games isn't a lot for a new team. And Sunday's game showed that there's some talent to tap into if everyone can get on the same page at the same time. I'm still hopeful for 7 to 9 wins.Rainman56 wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 5:50 pm Sould have forced him to play out that final year of his contract as a prove it year....Geno is average with a good team around him, with this O-line,shit playcaller, etc of course he's gonna get exposed......Only thing different from the last fat contract starter is geno actually has some fire and tries to win,he just isn't a great QB....We overpaid AGAIN.....I'd rather pay a Minshew on the cheap than overpay multiple Turds that may get us a handful more wins.
Star building the Trenches and defense, then if the right QB is available grab him......not a fan of drafting any QB just because we need one.....Ask the steeles how that worked out with Pickett...Ironically he's here too![]()

I don't think that's a stretch if the turnovers can be addressed.Atlasffa wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 7:01 pm We haven't seen the best of Geno. Is it possible that he and Chip just aren't on the same page yet? I really don't see Geno going for 3 INTs every game.ToastPatterson wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 7:10 pm I don't think that's a stretch if the turnovers can be addressed.
Off on a tangent I wish the d**n league would put the Raiders on TV in So Cal.
Which one of you has a stream that you like?

I renewed my NFL Sunday Ticket subscription. The stream quality has improved over last year. Once upon a time after the Seahawks moved to the NFC West the Raiders were regularly televised in the PNW, it hasn't been the case since the Vegas move.raider_kin wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 7:38 pm Is it possible that he and Chip just aren't on the same page yet? Geno’s record with the Seahawks was 29-25
His record with the Raiders is 1-3.
I have to wonder if the team he plays for now is playing a part in his poor performance.

It is annoying that almost every player that comes here over the last 20 years starts to suck. Honestly I think Adams might be the only guy I can think of who still produced, at least for a while.RaiderandBulldog wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 8:03 pm Geno’s record with the Seahawks was 29-25

Man I really want to believe in Geno and Chip. And I definitely saw growing pains, but Geno needs to improve quickly, it's really that simple. Most times our defense has played plenty good enough to win games and our running game and offensive line play have slowly improved a bit but Geno has to take control of this offense and stop turning the ball over and Chip has to call a better game. Chip has to take the training wheels off and find out what players can deliver his results and he needs to run the mf ball...my opinion means nothing and I have not enough knowledge to mean anything take it for what it's worth. And Maxx for the first time to me in his interviews and his podcast which kinda sucks seems to be frustrated af....

I did as well. SoCal is required to get the Rams and the Chargers. The non local team games the networks try to put on what, on paper, would be a good game.ToastPatterson wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 7:54 pm I renewed my NFL Sunday Ticket subscription. Had a thought. How much was Carroll’s Geno love a catalyst for the Seahawks thinking it’d be better to keep John Schneider and say, “so long” to Carroll and Geno?
Schneider has been the GM since 2010. Same year Carroll was hired as Head Coach. In the tug of war that can occur in the draft room, who had the most say? Cause I could see Schneider having more say in the beginning and Carroll influencing the draft more after winning a Super Bowl in the 2013 season.
Looking at the drafts, the best years by far are 2010 and 2013. It’ll be telling if the most recent drafts after Carroll’s departure start to reveal star draft picks again.
Btw, Schneider would also be the guy who didn’t think Russell Wilson, Super Bowl winner, was worth having around anymore. He was gone in ‘22. Carroll a year later.
Might be wise to jot in a notebook, If Schneider’s willing to let a QB go, that QB might be cooked.

Geno isn't washed up. He was never any good to begin with. Same POS he's always been.

It’s because we make poor decisions and that starts at the top.LayneStaley wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 8:33 pm It is annoying that almost every player that comes here over the last 20 years starts to suck. You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit. Jimmy G, Minshew and Geno are just poor signings and expecting them to be anything but bad was unrealistic.
Not all our personnel decisions have been bad, but the important ones have definitely been awful.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 2):

Here or another forum? If here there is a lot of history as to why.ToastPatterson wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 5:35 pm I usually just quickly browse the game day threads as I am watching the game. Last Sunday for whatever reason I followed it closer. As soon as the game started there was a group of "contributors" that instantly started going after another poster and the target of their flaming is one that I feel brings a lot to the forum. I mean they literally entered the thread asking where he was by name.
It reminded me of Bogs and the Sisters ganging up on Andy Dufrense in the Shawshank Redemption.
Weird shit.
As to the Gameday threads here I usually avoid them and only take peak on occasion. Avoiding it as it happens means less focus on the game, such as they are. Watching the raiders is enough frustration for any one time, no need to compound it with the game day thread. YMMV

Actually in the NFL as it is currently configured, drafting QBs is the only thing that makes sense.Rainman56 wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 5:50 pm

Just taking the offense we’ve built the exact opposite way to do it: skill positions first then QB. In order to be successful you have to do it the opposite and draft a QB first. Smart teams take advantage of a rookie QBs lower initial contract.
We don’t.
Why is it that true franchise QBs never hit the open market with as of late Cousins several years back and Baker more recently as exceptions. Because they are so valuable.
And the only way to get one? Draft them and keep drafting until you hit, even then keep putting resources towards qb in the later rounds.
The lines are important, but pale in comparison to QB.
So the Steelers drafted the “wrong QB”. Again, so what? You jettison him, move on and do it again. What you don’t do is 1. Not draft QBs at all or 2. Draft a non-elite QB, pay him like one and then start him for nearly ten years.
We’ve done both.

DK Metcalf, Smith-Njigba, and Tyler Lockett can make a mid QB look good. Especially Tyler Lockett, who was definitely Geno's safety valve last year.
