The Raiders need to be a running team 1st, which is why I loved the Jeanty pick. The Raiders had money and draft picks to address the oline but drafted a wr in the 2nd and didn't sign any quality oline free agents either and gave Geno an extension instead.
I don't know if it's the system but it looks like Geno is playing hero ball, instead of being a game manager because that's how he needs to be used.

The raiders ran for over 200 yards against the bears. Geno still sucked. This excited worked for 3 weeks. It's hard to run yourself back into the game when the QB put's you in such a big hole due to his turnovers.
Maybe we shouldn't be flinging it to begin with and play a simpler style of football offensively. We did run for over 200 yards against the Bears and the game was contested the entire time. We have demonstrated the ability to run the ball. Kelly gets to cute with his play calling. It's no secret than Geno will throw picks so why give him the chance.
Do what you do best until the opposing team proves they can stop you. It's not that difficult.

Geno has got to sit, and he won't, guaranteed. We'll see what happens, what Carrol says in post.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 1:19 pm It's hard to run yourself back into the game when the QB put's you in such a big hole due to his turnovers.

I have been advocating patience with Geno so he can work through his struggles but he is clearly becoming more of a liability every week. At some point Carrol is going to need to pull the pin.

I’ll be surprised if he does. At this point he has to do it but I din5 know if he can bring himself to do so.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 1:39 pm I have been advocating patience with Geno so he can work through his struggles but he is clearly becoming more of a liability every week. Russell actually wasn't as bad as people say. He just didn't want to do the little off-the-field things to get better.FlyBono24 wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 1:47 pm I'd rather have JaMarcus.... Geno is useless shit
I don't even think JaMarcus threw that many INT's (he just hit the ground or sideline staff instead)

He had a f[raiders_icon]cking garbage O-line too, I remember he got sacked repeatedly and people were booing him and chanting for the backup.mranquales wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 2:01 pm Russell actually wasn't as bad as people say. He ended up getting injured and his backup (Walter? Tui?) got injured in the same f[raiders_icon]cking game and they were on the 3rd string QB

He showed up to camp weighing more than most of our OL. But...He that 30 yard frozen rope he threw to Jerry Porter for a TD against the Chargers was a thing of beauty.mranquales wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 2:01 pm Russell actually wasn't as bad as people say. It was Porters last TD catch as a Raider. JaMarcus did have his moments but it was frustrating watching his idontgiveashititus drag the team down.

His “study habits” were legendary too.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 2:17 pm He showed up to camp weighing more than most of our OL. But...He that 30 yard frozen rope he threw to Jerry Porter for a TD against the Chargers was a thing of beauty.

It’s amusing. Geno is bad no doubt but he’s getting compared to Russell who is considered the greatest NFL bust of all time if it’s not Ryan Leaf. 1a or 1b, take your pick.
