Fire Chip Kelly

Post by Attyla »

Figured we can talk about the scheme that is wasting Jeanty, regressing Smith and frustrating the hell out of the fanbase. Not to mention Bech being wasted and a load of other issues.

When I think about our struggles at Qb, I often wonder if Mahomes, Allen, Burrows, Stafford - could look as good as they do under Chip, Oline and overall lack of talent we have. I believe they would each add a few more wins but resemble nothing like they do on their current team.
Not saying Chip isn’t part of the problem but I’m not convinced he should be replaced. I’d like to see what he can do with more talent. Even a rookie Qb.

That's what seperates the greats from the average. They can still make plays when the play or the pocket break down. You can't go a full 60 without having to deal with a pass rush or a receivers not being open. But you have to have the ability to extend a play. All those guys you mentioned can do that. Geno can't.

I'm not saying the Raiders would be 5-2 or 6-1 with any of the guys you listed, but no way the Raiders are 2-5.

They would absolutely look probably just at good. Maybe not Stafford but I never thought he was elite to begin with. The others, yes, you could take it to the bank. Elite QB play is the only way to consistently compete and win in today's game.

I think with an elite QB this is likely a 4-3 team. QB’s like Mahomes and Stafford are playing under OC’s that are playing chess. Kelly’s college offense is more checkers where opposing defenses have been predicting his play calls. I’ve got nothing personal against the man but his offense just doesn’t translate well to the NFL. It makes me wonder why Mark Davis has been trying to hire him the last couple years and made him the highest paid OC in the league. He must have a Gruden-like man crush on the guy. Regardless it hasn’t worked out and I think he’s the first coach that should receive walking papers after the season as his offense has been the weakest link. Raiders need an OC that is going to make QB’s look better, not worse than their last stop.

Chip is horrible, last game was somewhat better but I credit Bowers for that.

Yeah, you can't have a QB that's leading the league in interceptions and expect to win many games. This is one of those instances where it's impossible to tell how well the OC is doing because the QB turns the ball over so much.

The OC can't be in the QBs head yelling, "Don't throw into triple coverage!"

In spite of Chip we could-should be 4-4. I would just like to see what he could do with a better roster, starting with Qb.

Another wasted year, regardless

Yeah, I have no idea what CK is trying to do on offense. I have no idea what type of identity he is wanting to establish. I don't think he even knows.

A lot of unforced errors which is on the players but CK deserves some of the blame as well. There is absolutely no cohesiveness offensively.

Defense once again played well enough for us to win.

We’re getting close to bed-and-breakfast offense futility. Another single digit performance.

The question has to be asked. Who's responsible for this hire? They tried to hire him under AP which implicates Davis and Brady and making him the highest paid OC is definitely a Davis type of move. If Davis wanted to bring the bed & breakfast offense back, surely there were cheaper ways to do it like hiring a high school OC or something. There's a good chance after the weekend is over that the Raiders will be the lowest scoring offense in the NFL and there are some really, really bad football teams this year.

Overrated might be too kind of a word for his play calling ability. How can he not find a way to scheme up plays for Bowers?

it's so hard to judge him with that OL and especially last night with backups that made it even shittier against the best pass rushing team....with that said the great ones can make adjustments and for f[raiders_icon]cks sake get the ball to the best player on the field
