Clean the f[raiders_icon]cking house as the stench is incredible. I read that some want to keep Spytek and I ask why. Was his hands not dirty with the signing of Cappa? Did he not pass on OL help (getting day one starters at guard) and draft a WR 2 rounds early? Did he approve of waiving Pratt when they could have easily got something in his trade? Did he not have 3 picks in the 3rd round who have had zero impact or who can not even get on the field? I know Pete has the the majority of culpability, but why should Spytek get a pass. His hands smell like shit as well. Dufus should hire the best GM possible (his money is no object) and wash his hands. Let his GM make the decisions and stop trying to pretend that he knows anything about football. We all know continuity is important but that is only true when the personnel you have might have a clue of what is going on. This franchise could not look any worse if we fire everyone again.

The only blame that should be put on Spytek is letting Pete have full control. Bc rest assured, Pete had/has full control and every offseason move and draft pick had his name all over it. I'm willing to bet Spytek doesn't let that happen again, which is why I say give him another chance. That's my stance on it but as I stated, I wouldnt lose any sleep if they canned Spytek either.RI RAIDER wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 7:46 am Clean the fcking house as the stench is incredible. There are only a tiny handful of HC positions open in the NFL each year. There are certainly better options for prospects to go to, but if a team is needs a head coach, it must mean they're doing poorly (barring retirement, which is rare) and therefore should expect a rebuild of some kind.
While Mark may not be respected, Spytek is. HCs will take that into consideration.
We need to be able to draft a top QB prospect. It buys the new HC time because most rookies don't come in and set the world on fire, so it gives a HC the leeway he'll need to develop the kid. And if he pans out, it means the HC will be around much longer than the average tenure around the NFL.

I agree that drafting a QB in the top 5 will probably make the job more enticing because the candidate knows that they don't need to set the world on fire in year one. I can't imagine many top HC candidates will have a lot of interest in taking a job with Smith as the starting QB knowing that it got Carroll and his staff fired.
