Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

There are a few that would stay in college rather than take a job at any NFL team but the majority would come here no problemsToast wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 12:37 pm I like Marcus Freeman but I doubt he would leave Notre Dame for the Raiders. We now rate lower than the upper teir of the NCAA. Fact of life gents.
We’re almost a blank slate for any new HC & for once we have a few piecs that any HC would want to coach
It doesn’t have to be Freeman but it has to be someone fresh & new as i don’t think fans will take another retread

If we can finish the job and get the #1 pick and Mendoza, the attractiveness of the job increases dramatically

You know it quite easy saying no one will come here to coach the raiders when the raiders were in Oakland; because basically Al or Mark could just give the bare minimum salary to HC as they had no money….
Now they are in Vegas; and Pete getting 15 million; don’t know why they paid him that much; but Mark got money to burn…future HC will come Vegas because they will get paided even if they fail in their job turning the raiders around….

Without interference from ALL ownership.Ownership can own...Let the GM do his job and if he can't hire another GM...Pretty simple concept the Raiders can't seem to grasp.

Did you really just came back after years and years to say that you think Pete needs to stick around? My god man, what have they done to you?TheWiz76 wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 7:13 pm Pete has literally mismanaged the fck out of everything. But at some point we need to keep a coach.

My preference would be an up and coming NFL OC or DC rather than a college HCCWood24 wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:31 am There are a few that would stay in college rather than take a job at any NFL team but the majority would come here no problems

Big time college coaches are used to being able to recruit nearly anyone they want. They're used to having depth at every position. They don't just have a #1, they have 1A, 1B, etc. They also get to play tuneup games against hopeless opponents.RickRyb wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 8:41 am My preference would be an up and coming NFL OC or DC rather than a college HC
It's the complete opposite in the NFL. You have very limited ways to acquire players. Depth is crucial but also very limited. Your backup is almost always far worse than the starter. The game's faster, more complicated, and you need a top 5 QB to win.
It's a very difficult adjustment to make, not just for HCs but also coordinators.

Can we convince Lane to come to us over LSU?
Forgive me if that’s already been mentioned in this thread.

Under normal circumstances I would agree that the coaching staff deserves to be fired. I only say this because of the failure to consistently devise game plans to utilize our playmakers and we have some good ones.Corleone wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 7:07 am Did you really just came back after years and years to say that you think Pete needs to stick around? However...
These are not normal circumstances.
1-I do not trust Ronald McDonald will allow Spytek get his guy.
2-Who would we recruit? Jim Fassell? Bruce Coslet? Pat Schurmer? Norv Turner?
Look at the way the pendulum has swung with our last two head coaches. We went with one that was clearly not qualified to one that is qualified but long on the tooth. No one wants to coach here. I am not sure why Kingsbury backed out but the fact he did for an OC position is an embarrassment.
Maybe Pete is not the answer long term but I believe he can coach this team to respectability. It sucks that this is the current bar but it is what it is. Go get our QB, target an OC or QB coach that has a track record with young QB's. Maybe we could convince a guy like Chris Peterson? I dunno-reaching...
Six head coaches in six seasons is asinine. I am not sure that has ever happened before?
I am not trying to convince anyone that they are necessarily wrong but this is my perspective.

Reading that tweet and read "if" they move off from Pete. What do you mean "if"? How about "when?"

Sounds good if you like the idea of drafting Mendoza #1 overall and letting him sit behind Geno for 2 years.Toast wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 11:58 am Under normal circumstances I would agree that the coaching staff deserves to be fired. I am not sure what to think of Geno. While I initially wasn't a fan of the signing I never thought he would be this f[raiders_icon]cking bad.Corleone wrote: Mon Dec 08, 2025 7:53 am Sounds good if you like the idea of drafting Mendoza #1 overall and letting him sit behind Geno for 2 years.
