Fire Pete Carroll
I didn't see a thread yet, I wanted Pete to be able to stay a few years to rebuild us back, but it is clear to me that he is clueless on how to fix what is broken. We have made the same mistakes every week, with no corrections. He has to go! Thoughts?

Yep. I think Thornton was a wasted pick. For as tall as he is he doesn't fight for balls at all.DanKD wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 9:55 am Yet somehow this coaching staff thought focusing on playing and developing Thornton ahead of him was the right move

Buffalo should have fired the coach 2 years ago. It was clear he had peaked with that team. A defensive minded head coach who’s defense has let the team down in the playoffs every year.Toast wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 9:24 am Also mean to ask you this. Do you feel that Buffalo, Detroit and Washington should fire their head coaches after this season concludes?

At least we were smart enough not to fire him during the season. With the way McDaniels was losing the team, he may have led us to Daniels or Maye but screwed that up. We finally are finishing what we started

Of all the rookie WR, Thorton had the 2nd highest QBR when targeted and highest YAC.
Take from that what you will but I can say confidently that Pete was so bad this year, we don’t know what we have with this rookie class.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 4):

I was purely going on the eye test. I'm getting up there in years so I guess my eyes aren't seeing what the stats are showing.Corleone wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 12:37 pm Interesting stat.

That's true, and once they finally started to give the rookies some time some of them showed what they are capable of...I was big on Tommy Eichenberg the day they drafted him...love the way he flies around the field with seemingly total disregard for his own body.Corleone wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 12:37 pm Interesting stat.

The Raiders' used to have a lot of those type players on defense.

Tommy is a beast on Special Teams. I thought I heard he's a top 10 tackler. You see the hit he had the other day? Laid that boy out.raidersince63 wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 1:26 pm That's true, and once they finally started to give the rookies some time some of them showed what they are capable of...I was big on Tommy Eichenberg the day they drafted him...love the way he flies around the field with seemingly total disregard for his own body.

Yup, and aside from the fact that he's a good tackler, he's also a hard hitter on a Raiders squad full of "grabbers".BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 1:34 pm Tommy is a beast on Special Teams. I thought I heard he's a top 10 tackler. You see the hit he had the other day? Laid that boy out.

Yes but we didn’t even get to see it because Pete preferred to trot out 60 year old Lockett despite the season being over.

Let Spy pick the coach. Brady and MD have failed. Chip was a horrible hire too.
They paint a narrative and fans blindly go with it.

I still believe that Geno Smith made Thorton look a lot worse than he was.
Thorton has had two clean deep balls thrown his way: 1 against the Patriots which he caught (still had to slow down for it) and then the ONLY good deep ball Geno threw all season against the Broncos which Thorton dropped.
All the other passes were underthrown. Why do I have to slow down and fight for a jump ball if I have my man beat soundly?
A better QB and Thorton doesn't look nearly as bad. A better coach and Thorton gets more reps to get comfortable and closer to realizing his potential.

Thornton had f[raiders_icon]cking 29 targets this year from the worst QB in the league. Anyone that thinks they can properly evaluate him based on that is clueless. And I'm not even a Thornton fan. Was he a wasted pick? Probably. But we can't determine if he's any good yet.
