Brady has had one year under his belt in which he has had input on fixing a complete shit show, and because the Raiders weren't a playoff team, we are just assuming hes incapable? that's ridiculous... there's only so much that could have been done going into this season.
let's see how he handles this opportunity to change the direction of the franchise before we act like we know what the f[raiders_icon]ck we are talking about.

The Chip thing really scares me about Brady. I really hope whoever they hire they don’t force as staff on him. A young Offensive HC paired with an experienced DC would be my vote.

Going back to Pete, he was from the era where you came to the Raiders and scored that last big payday. Worked in his son's for some money too!
I'd say " pretty shrewd ".

Brady may be horrible or he may be great.
One part time season cant possibly define anything atm.
I got the feeling Spytek was reminding folks today that he and Brady are not tied at the waist. He said after briefly playing together in college, they didnt see each other or communicate for almost 20 years. Today they talk and dont always agree and have discussions. Sounds healthy enough to me.
I'll let this ride more than a single season for sure.

That's the problem as I see it Chucker....chucker wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 2:56 pm Are you sure it's "normal" for a GM to hire the coach entirely on his own without some kind of collaborative process? My guess is that it is not. Personally I have no problem at all with Brady's involvement, as long as he isn't forcing something that Spytek doesn't really like.
There isn't another NFL organization run by a minority owner. Only because Davis is clueless and didn't bother learn from his father that the Raiders find themselves in this sad situation.
We can safely assume Spy is here because of Brady's past relationship. It can be also safely assumed that after multiple, at least 2 that we are aware, coaches turning down the Raiders as HC, the Raiders ended up with PC and by fault a massive payout to Smith as QB.
So it now reported that Brady and Spy will lead the next HC search. Here's my question. If this hire turns to shit, which based on past performances there is a high probability, does Brad say to Spy, sorry I have to fire you even though I was in on the hire?
There needs to be a demarcation line between the owner and the GM. There needs to be a president of football operation separating the two in my opinion, especially when the minority owner isn't totally involved in the day to day football operations.
I know some here kneel to the alter of the boy genius, but this is just not the way to conduct good business.
Shit or get off the f[raiders_icon]cking pot.

As if we have a choice on what ownership does.
Things are fluid, availability is always limited, you have to keep your logic sound and hope you catch enough breaks that matter in the win/loss.

That being said, if he commits 100% of his time to fixing the Raiders, I'm willing to give him a shot. But the half ass shit aint gonna work. This franchise needs too much work and deserves full effort from everyone, esp from the guy calling the shots.

I read that and figured it doesn't matter because he won't commit 100% and ownership will do what they do and it's not like replacing a HC. However there is a * here because he is a minority owner and Mark still has final say.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 5:12 pm Well since you opted to leave out the 2nd part of my post, I'll repost it for you below:

If you are over an owner you are barely fanning for a team under said ownership. Like how I see the A's. They are dead to me until John Fisher is gone. Some hate Mark here, but John is the worst kind of owner you can have.

That's all this organization is about....owners looking to cash in at the expense of the Nation.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 5:12 pm Well since you opted to leave out the 2nd part of my post, I'll repost it for you below:
