I wouldn't call him about the OC job. I'd give him a HC interview, knowing he's likely not gonna be the guy but you never know. Then keep the name in the back pocket in case he's a guy your HC ultimately wants as OC. He also would satisfy one of the Rooney interviews for HC.

This is what Ive mentioned a few times. Why fill out a staff before hiring a HC? This is what has been part of the problem in times past.

Owner-GM hires the HC

HC- HC fires his coordinators

Coordinators--Let coordinators have input of their staffs

I'm old enough to remember Thad Lewis being a very hot OC candidate. From hot name to unemployed in a year..... it happens a lot.

I get that, I'm just saying, bring him in and interview him --I know the HC will pick his staff but Spytek needs to approve everything this go around. The reason Harbough was fired is ownership wanted to can his OC Monken and Harbough said no..so they were both shown the door. We need everyone in harmony and lockstep and Spytek needs the final say.

Let’s not forget, he didn’t really have a lot of talent to work with and his unit also spent a lot of time on the field because of how bad the offense has been the last two seasons. I don’t blame him for wanting to get out of Las Vegas as he’s probably looking forward to working with some decent talent for once.
He was being considered as a serious HC candidate before he came here. Why he made the lateral move to be an OC for this team is known only to him.

Pretty attractive landing spot for an OC, some truly elite weapons to work with.

Unless Mike Lafluer gets fired after Saturday, One of these guys will be the Raiders next coach:

Flores
Stefanski
Kubiak

I think it will be Stafanski and we will go full Cleveland Browns--we've already been half-stepping as the Browns, might as well make official and go full Browns..

I'd be happy with McDaniel as OC if we have a defensive HC. Flores still scares the shit out of me with respect to leading the team away from dysfunction. It doesn't sound like he's getting along with people in Minnesota either.

By the way, I'm trying not to be a dick when I ask which McCoach you're talking about..... just trying to figure out where you're coming from.
