At this point the fatigue is real. We are in a spot we have never been in before, and I think it is important that everyone buys in. If the yapper want's to yap, then let him leave.Marzan wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 9:54 am If he says it, his trade value takes a hit and his agent knows the score.
I hope Spytek remains firm and Mark empowers him so can feel comfortable to take the right decision. "You want to leave? Fine, we don't want anyone to be here against his will. Just bring appropriate compensation in return"

So it was pretty tight lipped about the hc search but some random gm was told Maxx didn't want to play for the Raiders again? Something isn't adding up

If Maxx told Brady that, some random GM of another team wouldn't know about it. Something doesn't add up. Nor does Maxx threatening retirement, that's not in his character. Guy wants to play so bad it's a fault, like last year end of the season. And now he's threatening to throw in the towel? That's hard to believe

Do you think Brady is going to tell a GM from another team that the team absolutely needs to trade Maxx because he won't play for the Raiders again? The idea of Brady telling this to anyone is completely outlandish.Hellbound wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 10:01 am So it was pretty tight lipped about the hc search but some random gm was told Maxx didn't want to play for the Raiders again? The Crosby situation is low hanging offseason fruit as now the games are over, the media needs stories to run with. I'm sure we will hear several stories over the coming months and most likely very little truth in any of them.

Who knows maybe he just decided to give away all of his leverage for fun?chucker wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 10:09 am Do you think Brady is going to tell a GM from another team that the team absolutely needs to trade Maxx because he won't play for the Raiders again? Right now the story seems like a lot to do about nothing. I can’t see us trading him by choice. He’d have to force the issue with a public trade request and that hasn’t happened. Maybe it just hasn’t happened yet … but it’s hard to see the benefit for him in waiting to do it.
The idea that a guy as vocal as Crosby is handling this quietly in house is also hard to believe. That would be pretty off-brand for him to handle his trade request quietly in-house.

…. And now this
“ Adding to the onslaught of speculation involving the Las Vegas Raiders’ star defensive end’s future that dominated the rumor mill during the Super Bowl week, the NFL offseason kicked off Monday morning with a report from longtime NFL reporter Jason LaCanfora of SportsBoom.com that Crosby has told Raiders’ part owner Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again. An unnamed NFL general manager relayed that news to LaCanfora. The report states Crosby’s representatives have begun informing other teams that he has no intentions of playing for the Raiders again.
Last week, noted and highly respected NFL insider Jay Glazer, who has said he talks to Crosby, told Yahoo Sports on Wednesday that he expected Crosby to be traded before the draft. Glazer said the reason will be because Crosby wants out because he doesn’t want to go through another rebuild, which the Raiders will be embarking on under new coach Klint Kubiak.”

Something just isn't right. Because what's stopping us from trading Maxx to a team that needs to go through a full rebuild again. He's informing teams he's demanding a trade, which will force us to trade him.... but it certainly won't force us to trade him to his preferred destination. Especially if he's doing all this behind the scenes.eastcoast128 wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 1:07 pm …. And now this

The source of this rumor is shady at best and imagined at worst. Why would Brady leak out to a rival GM that Maxx is not going to play for the Raiders again. This is senseless.BotesBoats wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 1:24 pm Something just isn't right. Because what's stopping us from trading Maxx to a team that needs to go through a full rebuild again. We read all this stuff and fall head first for it. Didn't Glazer or Canfora say something to the effect that it wasn't confirmed or just speculation? Thought I read it somewhere in one of our threads.
Not the GM part but the trade part.

Agreed. But it would make sense if Maxx's agent is leaking it to the GM's.Attyla wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 1:32 pm The source of this rumor is shady at best and imagined at worst. Why would Brady leak out to a rival GM that Maxx is not going to play for the Raiders again. This is senseless.
But the weird part is it also doesn't make sense if Maxx's agent is leaking it. Because they could very well be forcing him onto another bad team. They do have the best resources for a trade.

I'm just not that worried about it. The only way things can really turn out bad is if the team feels pressure to make a quick trade so they end up with less in return. Take your time, we have leverage in a trade and with Maxx. The team needs to focus on hiring staff and FA. Maxx needs to focus on getting healthy. Answer the phone if it rings.
