Reports are that the Raiders would not listen to anything unless it's a Parsons-trade-or-more offer. That's the right approach. If you don't get a haul, you just keep him.

There's an old saying in the sales business, "You can't get it unless you ask for it". So in asking for 2 #1s a la the Parsons trade, the Raiders are "starting high" with hopes of actually getting 2 #1s...and if they do, take it and run...but as has been said, there could be multiple other "counter offers" from other teams.

I think you ask for at least 2 1's plus a starting player. Kenny Clark was part of the Parsons deal too.

I don't expect anything to happen fast - he has a ways to go in his recovery.

heavyD wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 5:51 am I'm not sweating this at all. The truth is in the building not the rumors. If he truly wants out, I'm sure the team will not beat around the bush and trade him, and if he doesn't, he will remain a Raider. It's really that simple as Crosby is by far the best defensive player on the team and the the brain trust owes it to Mendoza to at least ensure that he has a defense that can at times get off the field so he's not forced into playing from behind all the time.
Problem is, even with Maxx, the Raiders' defense was nearly as terrible as the offense was,

So the defense needs an overhaul/rebuild of its own but we do have the cap space and draft picks to hopefully repair both side of the ball. But there's no denying that the additional cap space created by trading Maxx would greatly augment the rewiring of both sides.

I suppose this is sort of the "chicken or the egg" discussion.

Agreed, and that's why I believe Maxx can help us more by being traded than staying. I gotta believe that since there are supposedly several teams who are in the loop for Maxx, one of those teams will "make us an offer we can't refuse".

It's pure speculation as to why Maxx is intentionally not talking about the Raiders or the head coach right now. My own speculation is that he might have requested a trade and was told that if he wants to have any sway in where he ends up then he'll have to shut the f[raiders_icon]ck up. I honestly can't see any chance that Maxx clams up on his own accord.

Ditto, ...between the Raiders' noncommittal comments and Crosby's lack of comments they tell me the same thing. "If you play nice and STFU we may trade you to a contender, or may decide to keep you...but if you give us any grief, we may trade you to a team that is the NFL's version of Siberia".

If you get a solid starter and 2 FRP's, you run to the phone and call Roger Swiftie with the trade announcement. Max will more than likely want to go to the Lions, but I think he ends up a Cowboy (which he would be fine with).

I don't actually think the 2 firsts plus player is on the table, but if it is, you do that no hesitation. Typically, 29 year old DE coming off surgery don't fetch that type of return, but his salary is team friendly which is a major factor in our favor.

I'd consider a first rounder and an impact player at position of need. An idea I've been throwing around chat for a while is Detroits first and Jamison Williams for Maxx. Dan Campbell may be feeling some pressure to get Detroit over the hump this year after missing the playoffs, Detroit is Maxx's hometown team that he grew up rooting for, and Maxx certainly feels like a perfect fit for a Dan Campbell team.

Jamison Williams is still just 24 years old, he's better than any FA WR available, and his salary is high enough that Detroit may be motivated to move him (almost 28 million, signed through 2029, and Detroit has plenty of weapons on offense without JW on the team). With the price that free agents are signing for, we can afford that investment for him to be our Z WR, and I think this is a trade that would benefit both sides (if we made a good pick at Detroits spot at 17).

raidersince63 wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 3:13 am I found it odd that the comments about Maxx by Klint and Mark were kinda vague and sounded like simple posturing to me...neither of them committed either way about whether Crosby was going to remain a Raider or whether he was going to be traded.

Sounded like they were noncommittal by design...just my 2 cents.
...to be fair, Kublaik was kind of busy with some other stuff recently, and i'll bet that he didn't have a whole lot of time to delve too deeply in to things such as this, or factors which could play in to future decisions on this...
..that having been said, i'll go out on a limb and suggest that it will rise significantly on his priority list in the coming months....

I don't despise Maxx like some do around here, but I don't see a world where he has the kind of self-awareness to do that on his own. Maybe I'm wrong..... I'd prefer to be wrong.

Social media fatigue is a thing. I watched the clip where he said he was staying out of things and I saw that on his face. Maybe I am reading it wrong but that was my observation

Possible. But he hasn't actually stopped talking, other than that he stopped talking about the Raiders. He still loves the cameras, the microphones and his twitter account.
