If the compensation for a trade starts at 2 firsts and a player and Detroit comes knocking with your proposal of their 1st this year and Williams we could counter and also ask for Montgomery as he may be on the trading block. Would the board consider this fair compensation?Corleone wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 6:38 am I don't actually think the 2 firsts plus player is on the table, but if it is, you do that no hesitation. Typically, 29 year old DE coming off surgery don't fetch that type of return, but his salary is team friendly which is a major factor in our favor.
I'd consider a first rounder and an impact player at position of need. An idea I've been throwing around chat for a while is Detroits first and Jamison Williams for Maxx. Dan Campbell may be feeling some pressure to get Detroit over the hump this year after missing the playoffs, Detroit is Maxx's hometown team that he grew up rooting for, and Maxx certainly feels like a perfect fit for a Dan Campbell team.
Jamison Williams is still just 24 years old, he's better than any FA WR available, and his salary is high enough that Detroit may be motivated to move him (almost 28 million, signed through 2029, and Detroit has plenty of weapons on offense without JW on the team). With the price that free agents are signing for, we can afford that investment for him to be our Z WR, and I think this is a trade that would benefit both sides (if we made a good pick at Detroits spot at 17).

Jameson Williams? Hell no. Especially with the extension they just gave himGrumpy13 wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 7:04 am If the compensation for a trade starts at 2 firsts and a player and Detroit comes knocking with your proposal of their 1st this year and Williams we could counter and also ask for Montgomery as he may be on the trading block. Oh, yea, staying on safer topics is a way to combat social media fatigue. I did that here for quite a while, avoiding stuff where people would get into it with me.chucker wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 6:59 am Possible. But he hasn't actually stopped talking, other than that he stopped talking about the Raiders. He still loves the cameras, the microphones and his twitter account.

I’m tired of the Crosby drama but I do understand his frustration. He’s a guy that gives 100% all the time and he’s spent his entire career in the middle of a dumpster fire. A guy that gives it all like he does probably would like to play some meaningful games in his career. Him sitting those two games may have been the difference between Fernando, Mendoza and future meaningful games, or another year of Geno Smith or some other junk QB. If he can’t understand that, then it’s probably time for a mutual split.

I don't hate Maxx but i don't love him either. Doesn't change the fact that the best move for this team in a rebuild is to trade him.

Does any team have two 1st's in this years draft that needs a DE and is a playoff team with SB hopes ?

Keep the man, he’s a blue-chip player with a great work ethic. If he really is demanding a trade, then trade him to the highest bidder.

I also like Maxx in a rebuild because he sets newer guys up for success. You do need a few vets during a rebuild that have the culture and the drive to the work ethic

If you want out you don’t do interviews decked out in raider gear. I’m not saying Maxx is the bestest ever but his positivity and work ethic are welcomed. He dealt with this franchise this long this seems as good a chance as any to actually be part of a winning team.
My bet is he stays based on what we know now. Clearly things could change but I think even Kubiak and whoever the DC will be would want him on the team

My guess is once Kubiak is in the building full-time (starting tomorrow) there will be a sit down with Crosby, maybe Spytek joins them, and they'll go over everything - what does Crosby want/expect from yet another rebuild, what Kubiak brings to the table and what his expectations and goals are, etc. A mutual decision will come from that meeting.

I like Max. However, what this team needs is studs on rookie contracts (and build this team before said contracts are up). If we are being honest, Max will be older by the time this team is legit (2-4 years if lucky). His time line does not mesh. Do we have to trade him? No. Should we trade him? Yes. We need to jump start the reconstruction. Getting a couple of high draft picks and freeing up 30 million in cap is a win win for us. I know this has been beaten like a dead horse. I really hope we go almost exclusively on offense and protect our investments (Mendoza, BB, and Jeanty). I would hate it if we are still bottom dwellers in a couple of years and failed to trade Max whose value will go down the shitter.

Dumb question but has Max been quoted saying he wants out? Until that happens or I hear it from his agent directly, I'll assume nothing.
No dog in this hunt as a trade could bring in a haul and if he stays he gives 100% every play
Apparently he rubs some the wrong way because of podcasts and such but whatever, play like hell on Sundays and I`m good.

One of maddens rules. Play like hell on sundays. Maxx does that. This isn’t a situation where you wonder if he’s trying to playing for self preservation. He will never miles garret but he does give all he has to give week in and week out.Xramfan wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 8:59 am Dumb question but has Max been quoted saying he wants out? As long as the comp is right I’m ok with him being traded but I don’t think he will be

I feel like this opinion isn't valued enough. I can't disagree with the notion that Maxx will be old by the time we're in contention to win anything big, if we get there. However, he could very well help be the catalyst on our defense that keeps it good enough to help us be a continual playoff team. Getting to that point is our crucial next step, and I think it will be much easier with Maxx than without him.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 8:17 am I also like Maxx in a rebuild because he sets newer guys up for success.
