Horrible. I’m no scout, but I never dreamed Tyree would be this inept.
Then again, the actual scouts put thousands of man hours into this draft, and that’s what they came up with. Maybe we really are just as good as them? I’ll go with that.

When we called his name I thought to myself, self, did we just manage to draft Cle Ferrell all over again just a few short years later?SkullCrusher wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 7:44 pm I bet overall we felt that is was pretty good the day after the draft, 'cause that's what we do.

Just a note on my 2 'F' grades. Are we giving F's for not even being practice squad in their second year here?

Certainly it turned out to be a shit draft, but you have to wonder if some of those guys have suffered not just from terrible coaching but from the constant changes in systems. For example, O'Connell will be in his fourth system in four years.
OTOH, the defensive players don't have as much of an excuse because they were in the same system for three years, so it's fair to evaluate them as genuinely bad picks. This is especially true of a guy like Tyree Wilson. He shouldn't have been picked where we took him, but when every few games we say, "Oh, a Tyree Wilson sighting!" because it's the first noticeable play he's made in weeks... hell, don't know what to say about that.

It should be Cs for both. 7th rounders that made the team for a year, probably about average for a 7th rounders.raider_kin wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 8:03 am Just a note on my 2 'F' grades. Are we giving F's for not even being practice squad in their second year here?

The Raiders are where they are because of a long string of poor drafting dating back to McKenzie. The last decent draft was 2019 but that was unfortunately an outlier. Last season was weird in that the coaching staff simply didn’t want to play the rookies so hopefully a few players have better 2nd seasons.

Bowers: A. Best draft pick in a long time
JPJ: B- he got pushed around too much
Glaze: C+. Not a road grader but showed potential
Richardson: not sure
Eichenburg: incomplete. Played some but I didn’t watch enough the games he played in.
Layne. B- returns D - RB
Taylor and Devonshire. Incomplete

I don't know who our scouts are, but they all should be replaced! Wonder how long some of these scouts have been in our scouting dept.?raider_kin wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 7:58 am Here's the list: have at it, I'll start.

Ive always thought collectively here we could draft better then most GM's. GM's always trying to outsmart each other instead of just picking the best players with production in collegepfish57 wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 8:27 am I don't know who our scouts are, but they all should be replaced! As with many things in life, it’s probably a combination there of. Scouts can give their recommendation even though it may be wrong, then with so many changes in coaching they’re going to pound the table for who they feel needs to be drafted?

I'll take a stab. Giving a failing grade on the late round guys almost feels unfair. But yea, little to nothing worth acknowledging from that class. Complete disaster.

I like Trainvain's take: 7th rounders who make the team for a year can get a 'C'.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 9:04 am 1 Tyree Wilson DE Texas Tech. F
