Respectively, you've been bent out of shape regarding ANY negative response someone has towards Maxx though. Even completely logical ones.

Not really, if the comments make sense, I have given consideration. Do I want to trade a player for the unknown? Not really. Do I think some of the logic used is stupid as f[raiders_icon]ck? You bet. But do I understand why people would want to trade Maxx? Sure, but I am not going around saying "if you don't want to trade Maxx you are wrong and you don't want to improve the team" like I read. That shit is frustrating because it flies in the face of the truth. And for the most obvious of reasons. Because it is an opinion worded as a fact.

So, in this latest series of arguments, some got triggered over a video that is 3 years old and not even posted by the latest version of Derek f[raiders_icon]cking Carr

Corleone wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 3:15 pm I'll address Maxx since the topic is about him. Maxx was put on IR with two games to go, so the team could secure a generational QB talent, and immediately posted a video playing basketball as a way to say F You to the org, and tell the world he's healthy enough to play.

Knowing our luck, the league could have used this as an excuse to screw us for some made up BS violating the integrity of the league or some other crap, we are the Raiders after all. Fortunately for us, Maxx was indeed injured, and even better yet, NYG win along with our week 18 win completely erases any chance of that, even though it was always a very low chance of happening. Nevertheless, Maxx didn't want us to get Fernando Mendoza, and many think he's a dumb f[raiders_icon]cking idiot for that.

Besides that, he's a good player, although without the gaudy sack numbers you'd like to see from a premier edge.
This, though not the “didn’t want us to get Fernando”. Maxx doesn’t/didn’t put any thought whatsoever into where we ended up drafting.

It’s the basketball thing I found bothersome. It was childish. I had to that point, expected a greater level of maturity from him. I don’t absolve him for being petulant, but the “expectation” is on me. Most fall short. So did Maxx.

Dude is an addict. Always will be one. Reminds me a lot of other recovering addicts that aren’t using. You don’t so much “beat” addiction, you just stop using. You replace it. And you avoid moments of “idle hands” at all costs. Maxx has replaced his addictions with better ones. He fills any-and-all empty spaces of time with activity. So the basketball thing was immature, but it was also done out of fear. I can be understanding about that.

All that said, just my opinion, I think the team (as long as they can draft of course), would benefit more by trading him if he can get a haul of draft picks. Because of the timeline, because of the rebuild. Makes sense logically. He’ll be 29 at the beginning of next season. Which on average is a year past the “peak” for his position. He’s had 3 surgeries in the last 2 years. Glass filled-to-the-brim with KoolAid and optimism, we’re contenders in 2 to 3 years. When he’s 31-32. That’s past the peak. Hell, he could probably be picked back up for cheap by then for a Super Bowl run if his body hasn’t given out.

Who said I was bothered about it? I only said it was puzzling that fans get so polarized about one of our players. And if I was bothered by it why are you bothered that I am bothered by it?

I am not buying that his video could have jeopardized our draft status. Players are not placed on IR on a whim. Medical professionals recommended it and the team followed those recommendations.

He was just shooting hoops with his daughter for chrissakes. Childish? Maybe, insubordinate, no.

LMAO-I am just disagreeing about the situation. Not trying to act sanctimonious because someone sees it differently. There is a reason why there are chocolate and peanut M&M's.

Anyone eating any M&Ms that aren’t the original chocolate-only are terrorists, and more than likely, a spawn of Satan.

f[raiders_icon]ck off. If you don't like the ones in the yellow bag you are an infidel and I disprove of your very existence. Now lets dedicate three pages on this thread arguing about it.

I drop them in my Diet Pepsi when we go to the movies. Wife tells me that doing that is the act of a nine year old. She is probably right but my ninth year was a good one.

Peanut M&Ms are objectively better than any other kind of M&M. They are also a top 10 candy, and a really good energy food for endurance exercise activities.
