Nevada court clears way for Gruden to sue NFL
Sweet.
A Nevada court cleared the way Monday for a 2021 lawsuit filed by former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden to proceed against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, alleging that a “malicious and orchestrated campaign” was used to destroy Gruden’s career by leaking old emails he had sent that included racist, misogynistic and homophobic comments.
Would love to see the emails from Rog and the other owners to Davis to dump Gru.
And can we see all of Danny boys emails to other owners and to the league?

All 32 Owners would have you secretly executed after one day.Arsenal Raider wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 7:22 pm I don't really give a shit who the commissioner is, I'm just having fun with the premise of having someone new take over. This is not my quote, but someone once called Goodell a "clueless, anti-football pussy"
Couple things to do differently:
First thing, immediately eliminate Thursday Night Football and all International Games. Both of these are clearly prioritizing profit and expansion while sacrificing the quality of the product.
Get rid of the big goofy helmet covers and bring back the giant old school shoulder pads. Players have switched to these small, dense, compacted pads because it makes them harder to grab. They look worse and they transfer more force than a larger layered crushable pad system would (need to develop new pad tech to take advantage of this.)
Revert the kickoff rules back to how they were 20 years ago.
Keep the new overtime playoff rules, they're a good change.
- Commissioner should have to sumo wrestle against the head of the player's association every year, stakes yet to be determined.

International games need to stay as they have been a huge reason that the cap has grown as much as it has, the cap growing actually allows the product to grow both on field & offArsenal Raider wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 7:22 pm I don't really give a shit who the commissioner is, I'm just having fun with the premise of having someone new take over. The quality of the product hasn't changed one bit because of international games it has only got better
Having been to a number of these games & games in the states, i can tell you that there is really no difference in atmosphere

International exposure is great, the NFL is widely popular globally. I personally love all of the prime time games and the NFL continues to respect the Friday night lights of High School football as will as the Army-Navy game on Saturday.CWood24 wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 1:30 am International games need to stay as they have been a huge reason that the cap has grown as much as it has, the cap growing actually allows the product to grow both on field & off

The league isn't going to get that hurt. It's money rich people don't want out of their pockets imo that's all.Attyla wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 3:46 pm I actually think there is a strong number of people that are rooting for the boogie man killer. And in this case, the boogie man is the league. I actually am hoping that the boogie man is not the league. If the league gets hurt, my entertainment gets hurt. I want my entertainment. I want the boogie man to remain Gruden. If Gruden gets hurt, life goes on. I am selfish like that.
And I don't actually care if the league gets a slap on the wrist or not. I want the product to remain as unblemished as possible. I want the conspiracy theories to be wrong every time. I want the product to be above reproach. And that is so I can continue to cheer for the product without question. And that is because I am selfish.

I believe the game took itself to new heights and has continued to do so for 50 years. He cost them a billion ever talking to the news about concussions when the corporate answer would be we don't discuss things like that. He's a product of a great product that you would have to be stupid to screw up. Sure he does things, but imo they aren't needle movers and many things we don't agree with. TV contracts are going to be signed, NFL easily drives the best ratings around and not because of Godell. He's still the only commissioner that gets booed when he's onstage, there's something not right about that going on, the people know he's snakey.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 4:58 pm Goodell has taken the NFL to heights they never dreamed of. Its because he is the owners sheep dog. The owners love him and he happily takes the boos for them for his 60 million a year.SkullCrusher wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 7:51 pm I believe the game took itself to new heights and has continued to do so for 50 years. Right and sure he's in general smart and qualified, but he isn't alone, he isn't the reason for the NFL's success. There are others that have the same resume that could have driven the league better imo.DanKD wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 7:55 pm Its because he is the owners sheep dog.
