Big fan of the player, though I can’t say I like the idea of drafting a 25 year old DE.mstrbass2000 wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 10:03 pm hes ranked from 14-18 currently and 4th best de on most draft sights, pick 14 is very interesting pick this yr we can move up and down the board this yr and still get value ...i think the kid is a stud

IOANE IF HE IS THERE AND THEN TAKE BLAKE MILLER IN THE SECOND\ AND THEN KEIONTE SCOTT IN THE THIRD OR GERMIE BERNARD.
Now that would be a helluva haul in two days.

For me the issue with drafting an older player is more about how many more ascending years the guy has than how many years before physical decline hits. A player who is 21/22/23 years old is still developing physically (and mentally) and getting stronger every year. So the older player has been more developed than the players he's been matched up against and may look better in college as a result. Development may continue for longer in the NFL for a guy who enters at a younger age. At a certain age, most guys are at their peak already.mstrbass2000 wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 9:59 pm this used to be the case but with studs like cam from saints and hunter houston, mack chargers still kicking butt into there thirties , i dont see a problem, you get him at 25 and he's good for 7-8 yrs
Players can maintain that physical capacity for a long time - but may not have the same upside in the NFL as a younger draft pick.

DO YOU THINK THAT IF WE USED ALL CAPS TO SELECT BYRON YOUNG, WE WOULD HAVE ENDED UP WITH THE RIGHT BYRON YOUNG?

I kind of feel like that’s the play at 14. The free agent market appears to have some good options in terms of o-line while also being pretty thin at WR.Rabidraider wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 5:32 am I was cheating last night.

I’d also add that, at least as far as mock drafts go - looks like there could be a run on receivers starting right around pick 14. Might be pretty picked over by 36. I’d say 36 is generally a sweet spot to get one of the top interior o-linemen

....and yesterday, you admitted to have been 'drooling', which, with a name like 'rabid' ,did seem to have been cause for concern....
