That's just talk to keep the price high. Just like we were saying for months before the Ravens deal.

....you're probably right., and it is the right move at this time, rather than to express desperation and a willingness to 'give him away', and were he to stay, I have little doubt that he would be a force for us this year, so again, it seems like the logical move.
...the extremely fortunate thing is that we actually still have the cap to absorb it, which after spending what we have, and then being pearl harbored by this, is a neat trick in itself.

If we want to still trade him I would float this to the Bengals

Orlando Brown Jr. 21 million, this would be a salary dump for them
BJ or Dax Hill, around 12 million for a really good player.
The #10 pick.

I doubt any disrespectful conversations happened on either side. I do wonder if Maxx requested a trade. In that scenario we are still pursuing a trade partner. If it were on the Raiders side, that could just mean they were answering the phone and got blown away by an offer they could not refuse. That could happen twice

My uneducated guess is that Maxx requested a trade and did it respectfully and quietly. This bridge can be repaired I would think.

I would rather get a higher #1 in this draft and a second than a team like the Rams first this year and next.

I know next years draft is supposedly better in some ways, but that is always the case. Who knows? The only thing that would be good about next year is that QB's could push good players down the board and we don't need one.

League cannot step in and it would be a waste of time for the team to try and file a grievance. But Baltimore does get a blackeye from this. Teams are going to want to be careful dealing with the Ravens going forward for a while.
It never said anything about the league doing anything about it. Rather referring that Bmore would have to answer to other owners and GM's about their modus operandi.

RickRyb wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 8:35 am I think a positive is that Mark Davis & Crosby had a conversation and it was mutually agreed to make a move. It doesn't sound like there were any demands or either side were overly pissed. Also, when did their conversation take place? Was it before Kubiak became head coach? Before Rob Leonard was named DC? It's possible there really isn't any animosity that needs to be repaired.
...the fact that Maxx was reportedly already back in at 6 am to continue working and rehabbing is not what I would think would be a bad sign.....

Couldn't be more happy with an empowered Spytek. Full confidence in him navigating this situation properly.

I never thought they could negotiate two firsts for Maxx this early in his rehab. I never thought we'd get anything in trade for Geno. I don't expect Spytek to suddenly cave in now. He's no Reggie.

Owners are part of the league, and directly tied to the NFL offices. I merely took it further. Unfortunately, it is a big nothing burger since the Ravens invoke a failed physical.

Something just crossed my mind and before anyone loses their cabbage, it's just a random thought/possibility.

What if, Maxx decided himself that Baltimore is not where he cared to go, and purposely dogged it at the physical?

The Ravens don't have to invoke a failed physical, because nothing was ever binding before the new league year started. The Ravens could just invoke "we changed our minds" as a reason for backing out. Just like any player or team can invoke that on a contract agreed to in the past two days. It's bad business, but within the rules.
