I think we should go back to running a 4-3 defense and cut the bullshit. Maxx and Paye would make perfect bookends.

In a trade at this time in FA, sure, leverage has been lost to a degree. Teams still value Maxx as he plays a position of need that is very hard to replace. A trade could still happen but it’s probably in the best interest of the organization to keep him plus the leverage they can regain once the knee is healed.raidersince63 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 12:22 pm I don't see that happening either...I don't think Maxx lost any value, at least not with most Raiders fans.![]()
If anything, the Ravens have now put a stink on themselves that’s going to be tough to get rid of, at least in the short term. The trade falling through hurts them more than us in a sense.

Paye isn't that good, and Maxx would still get abused by OT's and double teams. If we can get a monster NT, then Maxx might just be able to get to the QB in a 3-4.erickench wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 11:30 pm I think we should go back to running a 4-3 defense and cut the bullshit. To be fair, not many are getting through a double team on a consistent basis. And maybe I’ve been asleep at the wheel, but it’s not often Maxx gets abused by anyone. By most accounts, teams actually game plan around containing him. That’s not a sign of a player being abused.NewEraX25 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 5:22 am Paye isn't that good, and Maxx would still get abused by OT's and double teams. Agree we need a true NT

3. He’s also not worried.
Asked if he believed the fallout could impact his relationship with agents and other teams, DeCosta described his phone as “still ringing,” adding that he believes his team still has good relationships around the NFL.
Is any of that true?
Let’s focus on his third point, after my colleagues Mike Sando and Jourdan Rodrigue spoke to a wide range of NFL sources about the fallout.
The stances of multiple agents, executives and coaches can be summarized by the quote “bad business,” with one veteran agent saying the reversal was “not a surprise when you think of who is involved.”
That was consistent with what two executives said about the Ravens’ reputation for, as one put it, “f—ing with people.” Ouch. (In yesterday’s newsletter, I noted some previous examples of Baltimore nixing deals.)
A consistent theme from these insiders, who were granted anonymity to speak freely: They doubted the Ravens found any surprises during Crosby’s medical evaluation. It sounds like someone got cold feet. Or maybe it was all strategic, as one team executive suggested:
“If they could not get Hendrickson, they were going to go through with the Crosby trade, in my opinion. They were willing to pay that PREMIUM in draft choices as insurance.”

I'm sorry, but Maxx is an abysmal pass rusher, and all we have heard was the excuse that he gets double and triple teamed. Myles had the highest rate of double teams faced last year and he smoked Maxx in pass rushing stats. While playing 200 less snaps to include Maxx sitting out 2 games. Maxx is not good at all against a double team. Joe Alt puts on a clinic when it comes to stopping Maxx. Maxx gets his pressure when a QB holds onto the ball too long, he barely gets pressure off his initial rush. Honestly the only benefit to having Maxx in a 4-3 would be his ability to stop the run.Viper wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 5:33 am To be fair, not many are getting through a double team on a consistent basis. I like the fact that both parities (Maxx and the FO) are saying the right things which benefits all. I do not expect him to take another snap as a Raider.

He's not abysmal, stop. He's just not elite. He was never on the same level as Garrett. Nobody is.NewEraX25 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 7:41 am I'm sorry, but Maxx is an abysmal pass rusher, and all we have heard was the excuse that he gets double and triple teamed.
