He was mostly a starter for the 49ers.Why are some opposed to this signing? One way to look at it— is he an upgrade over Parham?

I assume that there's too much PFF scouting going on. And I think PFF actually liked Parham. Burford is likely not better than Parham, but he's a lot less money and he's depth IMO. Parham would probably be better in a ZBS with better coaching, but I think our starting guards are likely going to be JPJ and Rogers - both of whom likely outperform Parham's best.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 4:29 am He was mostly a starter for the 49ers.Why are some opposed to this signing? Yeah the same people go by PFF when it suits there need and it sucks when it doesnt. Buford had a bad grade so he sucks. Parham had a solid grade PFF is crap. The tie breaker I guess is the old " my friend is a niner fan and he said"chucker wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 5:05 am I assume that there's too much PFF scouting going on. I can only answer for what I saw: Parham (nearly every time) somewhere in the backfield getting blown off the LOS.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:32 am Yeah the same people go by PFF when it suits there need and it sucks when it doesnt. Every fan base gets excited over a FA signing. Sure we hope that this kid can excel and play better with a change of scenery. If you pay attention to the Niner fans, they all say this kid blows. Its funny because a few of my friends are die hard Jets fans. They all think Parham was a good signing. I had to burst their bubble and let them know that he BLOWS and will be out of the league at the conclusion of his contract.

Bingo. The few other times he doesn't get blown off the LOS are the times he doesn't hit or engage with anyone. The lost look he had was priceless (in a bad way).Willmark wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 7:18 am I can only answer for why I saw: Parham (nearly every time) somewhere in the backfield getting blown off the LOS.

IMO, PFF lost credibility when it used to give Carr such high marks, which then manifested itself through fanboys who posted insufferable shit here.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:32 am Yeah the same people go by PFF when it suits there need and it sucks when it doesnt. Stats can provide a piece of the picture, but they can't evaluate a player's intangibles e.g. leadership, work ethic, coming through in the clutch, etc.

I agree. It never shows the big picture. I can't use it as proof of anythingOpoponax50 wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 8:32 am IMO, PFF lost credibility when it used to give Carr such high marks, which then manifested itself through fanboys who posted insufferable shit here.

I watch enough of the 49ers games to get a sense for how that team is doing. They’ve had a lot of problems with their offensive line the last several years, mostly due to injury. They’ve tried various combinations, but unlike the Raiders to end up with a complete crap line, they end up with a pretty stable group of guys who get the job mostly done. He was part of that line at many times over the last three years and I never heard any complaints about him just complaints about the revolving door due to injuries. The big difference is, the Raiders have bad coaching and bad players and the 49ers have good coaching and schemes which can kind of mask subpar players.RI RAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 7:25 am Every fan base gets excited over a FA signing. Kubiak likely has the inside track from Klay as to what Burford brings or doesnt bring. The good news that this is a new day for the Raiders and if players dont cut it, they will be replaced........or so I hope.

Exactly like Fly when he claimed Miller was going to be a bust because his brother went to UCLA and watched the gamesFLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:32 am Yeah the same people go by PFF when it suits there need and it sucks when it doesnt.
