My border collie could catch him, but he's ball obsessed and would try to force a fumble rather than making the smart play and tackling Jeanty to the ground. If Spy wants a cheap blitzing linebacker who can disrupt the pocket I'll have to toss his hat in the ring.

A lot of possibilities but so little concrete evidence that the line will be better at this point. It is so clear to all of us what a priority this is, that it is a no-brainer for the new management too. We can hope that the new folks are a lot smarter, experienced, and wise than prior regimes. I was not impressed with Glaze last year and there is that glaring stat of "pressures allowed." Grant and Rogers are basically unknown today and I'm sure that coaches will be working hard on revealing their potential or are they just more high draft choices to fail with the Raiders.chucker wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2026 6:11 am It will be interesting to see what they do with the oline. It's possible that they really believe there's more potential there with Glaze than fans think there is. It's also possible they think Grant has real potential to be a contributor at RT this year. It's also possible that they are just acting like the oline isn't an issue so they can improve it without other teams knowing what a priority it is. I think the blocking scheme will be really good for Jeanty, but they still have to learn to execute it and that's going to take time.

Nothing was Jeanty’s fault last year. The coaching/scheme/oline failed him. I’m surprised he even stayed healthy &, got the numbers he did. He’s absolutely a top 3 RB already. Not his fault his numbers don’t show that. A RBs stats are largely dependent on the three things mentioned above. His own actually play was elite, it was just shown in a different way. Still the wrong pick in the first last season but, he’s an elite RB nonetheless. Imo, like a bunch of others here, probably every Raider fan period, is expecting huge things (stats) this upcoming year. Bet big on Jeanty in Vegas guys lol. He’ll easily meet the numbers…if healthy.

I’m excited to see what Jeanty can do in all properly run NFL offense. Best thing you could say about his 1st season is that he stayed healthy despite being contacted early and often when getting the ball in his hands.

If we can get the line squared away Jeanty has the ability to become the best asset for Mendoza, along with a true WR1. Get Mendoza comfortable under center and it’s a completely different offense, one that has a chance to both put up some points plus giving our defense a much needed rest. If Jeanty can get to the line of scrimmage before he gets hit, he has a good chance of having a great year. Win the games we’re supposed to win and sprinkle in a couple wins where we aren’t supposed to. Compete and look like a real football team under real leadership. We’d all lose our minds.

Yeah the Walker Charbonnet split was 55-45 ish last year but both guys are good enough to see a lot of touches. He hasn’t been afraid to use one guy dominantly when the talent isn’t as even though.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2026 3:03 pm only thing holding ashton back would be kubiak and his love of the 2 back system

Kamara dominated touches for saints in 2024 under Kubiak. Raiders do need a capable #2 but Jeanty is going to get the majority of play.

Kubiak isn't holding anything back except a players stats which doesn't mean much considering they won the Superbowl.
Kubiak said, Jeanty needs a wing man.
The team needs a wing man. Or a #2 however you want to look at it.
2 fresh legs down the stretch means something.

The true story is that a running backs carrying the ball 25 times a game will start to get hurt more; so really need to install a two back system in Vegas; possibly the raiders might draft another running back in the draft to do that….

Depends a lot on the player. Some seem to be done after their rookie contract even when splitting time. A few like Henry, Gore hold up.SuperRaider wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 10:58 am The true story is that a running backs carrying the ball 25 times a game will start to get hurt more; so really need to install a two back system in Vegas; possibly the raiders might draft another running back in the draft to do that….
I dont have a problem riding a RB through their rookie deal and moving on if they are worn down. You do need a #2 to keep them fresh enough for the playoffs either way though.

The O-line will be better this year just by the presence of real coaching. Even if we were to have the exact same line as last year they would be better. Brennan Carroll was a joke as O-line coach.
