2026 Draft - First Round - Thurs.4/23 - 5/8 pm
99% chance the Raiders start things off with doing what we all want them to do. Less than a 1% chance they trade the pick? Yep. There will be some interesting trades in the first round, including a possibility our new management trades up into the first round using the "extra" picks we have this year. But, I am expecting an evening of observing and anticipating rounds 2 & 3 tomorrow night.
Enjoy one of the best sports events of the year -- the NFL draft.

He's not a franchise guy IMO. Without a 5th year option most graded him a 2nd rounder.

Rams definitely have a need at WR so I'm guessing the plan was because this draft is so deep at that position they are gambling a guy they like will be there at 29.

That was 100% McVay.MexicanHulk wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 6:35 pm I'd be all for it too for them. But I wouldn't have done this early for Simpson. I like Simpson but not in the 1st. They shoulda took Nuss, C. Payton or. Allar later.
They are thinking much further ahead than a lot of others teams certainly us.

You cant say you would of rather taken this qb or that qb later. If hes your guy, you take him. When will people realize you dont f[raiders_icon]ck around at QB.

Yea, im not doubting McVay. They are prepping for life without Stafford. They have no major needs. Love that pick for them.Rabidraider wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 6:36 pm He's not a franchise guy IMO. Without a 5th year option most graded him a 2nd rounder.

So true. If they had passed on him the chances are some other team scoops him up.BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 6:37 pm You cant say you would of rather taken this qb or that qb later. If hes your guy, you take him. When will people realize you dont f[raiders_icon]ck around at QB.

You can absolutely say that. Depends on how high a ceiling is & if you're ok with that. I think it was ridiculous that Orlovsky rated Simpson higher than Mendoza but I'm not surprised Simpson went in that range. The Rams aren't going to pick that high very often so I think it's a solid move. I'll also trust McVay way more than the general media sentiment.

This draft is not a good WR draft. It's overrated for sure. There's some solid talent later but, not deep for sure.16 to 88 wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 6:36 pm Rams definitely have a need at WR so I'm guessing the plan was because this draft is so deep at that position they are gambling a guy they like will be there at 29.
