2026 Draft - First Round - Thurs.4/23 - 5/8 pm

Unread post by RunOverByHubbard »

99% chance the Raiders start things off with doing what we all want them to do. Less than a 1% chance they trade the pick? Yep. There will be some interesting trades in the first round, including a possibility our new management trades up into the first round using the "extra" picks we have this year. But, I am expecting an evening of observing and anticipating rounds 2 & 3 tomorrow night.

Enjoy one of the best sports events of the year -- the NFL draft.

No. Not at QB. And not with an offensive mastermind making the pick.

The Rams aren't going to pick that high very often so I think it's a solid move. I'll also trust McVay way more than the general media sentiment.
Yeah you have to trust McVay no matter what he does. Still somewhat surprising that a team who wants to win a title next year uses 13 for a purpose beyond next year.

To add to that, IF he turns out to be good how many teams in this draft are going to be kicking themselves for not taking him earlier or trading up to snag him.

At least Pittsburgh doesn't get Simpson.

Since Rodgers is out doing mushrooms.

That's exactly what good teams with no major needs and an aging QB do. Not sure what's so surprising.

McVay walking a fine line here. Hoping he lands an impact player he needs (WR?) at 29 while preparing for the future. Was Stafford aware of this? lol.

“Somewhat surprising”. And I’m far from alone in being a bit surprised that a team on the cusp doesn’t use 13 for the immediate future.

16 picks to go, I'm already looking down the list of best available to see who's there at our pick maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade their first next year for a player. That player probably does a lot more in 2026 than a 2026 draft pick would. At some point they were going to need to find a successor to Stafford.

Report was they called Stafford before the pick to let him know.
