I agree that he did reasonably well at center. I think you have around 3 to 4 games worth of tape at that position and they would not have done that had he sucked. I went back and watched about 15 minutes worth of tape on him and he is big and fast. I would rather he spend some time working on his run blocking but his pass blocking looked good. Saw a bit of his work at center and the tape reflected the same.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 12:24 pm Are you saying he struggled at center? If so, that's false. He actually played very well at center. 126 snaps worth is a small sample size but he played well at center

Just curious, where do you find tape like that?Attyla wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 12:55 pm I agree that he did reasonably well at center. Looking at his production, athleticism and versatility its surprising he wasnt seen as a borderiine 1st round pick.
This was a great pick. Maybe he was too boring of a prospect.

You mean THAT "Dan" Mosebar?!
If you don't know why Don is pronounced "Dan" by some of us OG let me know and I will inform you. Or
Ron Wolf will enlighten you

espn 30 for 30 elway to marino
if ever get a chance when it comes on espn watch, Wolf says it, talks about it on camera
also safe to say everyone wanted Marino in hindsight. Don't know how many wanted him before, sure Wolf did and a number of Raider FO, but Raiders had Marc Wilson who Al had just picked a few years earlier. If Al wasn't so involved with lawsuit against the NFL a lot are sure Al would have picked Marino since he was the type QB Al loved, throwing the bomb

One of the greatest f[raiders_icon]ck jobs of the Raiders in NFL history was the NFL stepping in to ensure Elway wasn't a Raider. His dad, agent and John himself all thought they were going to the Raiders. Yes. Raiders had a trade with Bears and Colts in place until that piece of shit commisioner phoned the Bears and nixed everything.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 6:53 pm One of the greatest f[raiders_icon]ck jobs of the Raiders in NFL history was the NFL stepping in to ensure Elway wasn't a Raider. Or Al and the Raiders have John Elway to qb them to who knows how many Super Bowls the Raiders would have won with him at quarterback.
That was a complete f[raiders_icon]ck over job we got illegally screwed over by. But we had Marino right there for us with nothing the NFL could do about it. I think the Raiders would have back then with the teams we had won just as many more SB's with Marino as Elway.
And can't believe I forgot this since it was 83' when all went down Plunkett was our QB and just won us our 3rd SB Trophy. But having both Plunk and Wilson in QB room Al said no to Marino. Major f[raiders_icon]ck up in hindsight. But the f[raiders_icon]ck over by roselle and the nfl was criminal.

I know why you refer to Don as Dan, but it really has nothing to do with then comparison of Zuhn to Mosebar.ELCAraiderfan wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 6:12 pm "Dan" Mosebar. You mean the guy we picked instead of Dan Marino?!!

We can live in the present and see the similarities between Mosebar and Zuhn and hope Zuhn turns out to be 1/2 as good as Mosebar was. If he is half as good as Mosebar then we have something on the Oline.
Or we can whine and complain because Al decided on Don over Dan and it will no impact on the Zuhn pick or his future.
We can real old school and compare Zuhn to Steve Sylvester since both are adept at playing all 5 positions on the OL. If Zuhn plays as long and effectively as Steve Sylvester it is a good pick.
If you don’t know who Steve Sylvester is let me or one of the really old OGs and we can tell you about him.

The biggest punching bag is Dan Walters.haji81872 wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 8:12 am I hate it when people call him Dan. He was a three time pro-bowler and another in a long line of great centers for us. Show respect on his name.
