Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

I was told Tre Tucker is a bum & will be expendable because he's 5'9. Yet the head coach and now the GM specifically name him with praise. Nailor is gonna prove to be a great signing also. Excited for Benson

Too short and gone next year, yes. A bum is pretty strong. Curious who said that. Receipts or it never happened.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 6:51 pm I was told Tre Tucker is a bum & will be expendable because he's 5'9. I’m looking forward to seeing Nailor. They went after him only slightly less than they did Linderbaum. Benson seems to just be a thinner Thornton when it comes to route-running. Taking the top off though, they’re game. Last year was such a clusterfuck that we don’t really know how good Bech is, or Thornton for that matter. Similar to our OL in that we don’t really have enough material to judge. Also… there was Geno.
Btw, you’re starting to approach a level of red-ass about Tucker that’s probably best described as “Napoleonic”. Unless you’re related, and if that’s the case, I get it.

You said he wouldn't even be on the roster come week one, or something along those lines. I have no red ass in this regard. It's super funny that a guy whose already proven he can play even in shit offenses is somehow written off because he's 5'9. You just said it so boldly. Nothing against you, I generally like your posts. I'm thinking Tre is gonna change your mind this year. He's gonna do his part in a balanced offense. Also, if the Napoleon thing is a short joke, miss me with that. I'm 6'4 barefoot. Tre Tucker would also have height on ol NapoleonGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 7:25 pm Too short and gone next year, yes. A bum is pretty strong. Curious who said that. The thing that bothers me about Tucker is he seems to double catch every pass. But he does catch it.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 9:12 pm You said he wouldn't even be on the roster come week one, or something along those lines. I have no red ass in this regard. That's a fair take and I agree. He's almost lost a few touchdowns from doing that in the end zone. I do think he stepped up last year and was better in that way than previously. He also blocks his ass off & I love that. There's big receivers who dont block as good as he does. Much of the offense is going to go to the ground game, Bowers, 2 TE sets, etc so I'm not expecting any receiver to truly be a #1 option outside of Brock. Tre's skillset plus his willingness and ability to block will give him plenty of reps out wideRickRyb wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 10:37 pm The thing that bothers me about Tucker is he seems to double catch every pass. Next year. That was my bet with you for the 20k silver dollars. I wouldn’t make that bet for this year and him having a year left on his contract. He’s good, he just would really be bucking a trend for Kubiak, and on top of that needing to get paid. I don’t see it happening.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 9:12 pm You said he wouldn't even be on the roster come week one, or something along those lines. I have no red ass in this regard. And 6’4”?!? You lucky sonuva gun.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 2:27 am It’s known colloquially as “coach speak”.
Geno of course is definitely not one of those options. Coaches really drive home the adage that it is genuinely wiser to trust a man’s actions over his words.
I think it best we just lay down some Raider Station Silver Dollars on whether Tucker is a Raider next year. Attlya get in here and broker this “GoodTime” bet please.
Edit: I’ve got a smidge over 50k and you’ve got a hair over 20k. So let’s make it a 20k bet.

I can absolutely see a world where Tre gets a contract from some team lousy with cap space and he leaves even if the Raiders want to keep him. In that way the bet is a coin flip but I'll still be in on that. I'm more excited for Jalen Nailor than Tre. I got red ass seeing posts when he was signed and overall being overlooked. That's a hill I'll die on. I think he's gonna be really solid as a Raider.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 12:17 am Next year. That was my bet with you for the 20k silver dollars. I'm at the height where buying jeans is still easy so that's all I care about. I went from 5'9 to 6'3 in a matter of three months in high school. My knees bare the stretch marks

Me too. Benson was flying around all over the place last year with the Oregon Ducks.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 6:51 pm I was told Tre Tucker is a bum & will be expendable because he's 5'9. After transferring from Florida State, Malik Benson started all 15 games for Oregon in 2025, stepping up as the primary veteran target for quarterback Dante Moore. He led the Ducks with 719 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 43 receptions, providing a reliable deep threat that helped the team reach the College Football Playoff semifinals.

After the year Jones had last year no wonder they moved on. But just like Jones, Richardson will get the same chance to resurrect his career. He really needs to learn how to read a defense as the next team will not scheme around his 1 read wonder.raider_kin wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 5:47 pm Colts quitting Richardson

Cardinals, Jets, or Minnesota could be a good landing spot. Maybe, he'll end up playing this year for the Colts if Jones gets injured.

He could be a genius at reading defenses but it doesn’t matter if you’re can’t hit the broad side of a barnSTHfrontrow wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 6:20 pm After the year Jones had last year no wonder they moved on.
